Lifetime risks are much higher than that. http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancerbasics/lifetime-probability-of-developing-or-dying-from-cancer Unfortunately the American Cancer Society is so opposed to tobacco in any form that's it's difficult to find clear data on relative risks of different tobacco forms. They don't present data that doesn't reinforce their position.
Golden Mixture is my go-to tobacco that's not Flake. Love the stuff, it's even better IMHO if allowed to dry out a bit before packing, and allowed to rest for 10 minutes after the charring match.
OGS in Chacom billiard, lit by match. I only have standard kitchen matches, but I find myself gravitating back toward them instead of a lighter.
I use my zippo w/pipe insert, but also have been using matches for charring light, and starting light more and more. Still using zippo if relight needed.
Since I don't have any of those, I just use whatever wooden match I can find, and let it burn for a couple of seconds before I light up.
I'm taking a few days of much needed vacation to do chores around the house, so I had a rare chance for a mid- morning pipe. SG MVF in a Lorenzo pipe, matches from Wally World.
Early afternoon pipe, H&H AJ's VaPer in my Meerschaum, accompanied by a little coffee. This is my favorite coffe cup, from my alma mater Jacksonville State University. Go Gamecocks! They're currently ranked #1 in FCS, and almost pulled off an upset of Auburn early in the season, taking them into OT.
Gatsby Luxury Flake in my Dr. Grabow Royal Duke (1/2 Bent Bulldog). Pic to come shortly. Probably have a bowl of Mac Baren Vanilla Creme in a while as well.
Note snow streaking through the shot, also on clothing. Storm just started. H.I.S Canadian Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake
