Thank you. After the enjoyment of my adjustable I'm looking forward to the E2. You know, now that I think of it I believe you might have had a hand in this enabling business. Wait, I think it's a conspiracy! LOL

I loaded one into the type F this morning and ooh la la, perfectly smooth 3 pass BBS. No irritation and barely any sting from the Captains Choice aftershave. I have not met a rival to these blades. Now to remember not to run out of them again.....:D

I cannot figure out what's wrong with my Type F Schick. It looks like every other one I've ever seen... i load the blade just like my other Schicks... and it hardly cuts any whiskers at all!!! My guess would be that something is bent? But I can't find it or figure it out! Anyone else had a problem with an F?

No real 'problem' with my F... I just don't think it's all that :scared003:
It gives on OK shave but nothing to really write home about.

Wish I could help. I had a similar experience with the Pal Adjustable. What I found was 1. Too much pressure 2. Over thinking the blade angle 3. Was using a Personna blade instead of a Chick. Throw up a pic if you want sir.

The Chicks are smoother no doubt...But the new Personnas are still better than any DE blade I've used except for my very favorite...

Right ...Don't Fret about this one Sir...This is a common thing with some F Types...I was warned about blade loading problems just after I got mine...There is some evidence to suggest that the F Type was designed to take thicker blades and thus was intended to use its own injector key...I pertain to the view that it was indeed designed to take a thicker blade.....Here is the thing...Its so easy to unwittingly Run a Blade Across the Stops when Loading the F Type...I am speaking from Bitter Experience Here...:angry032:....I thought mine was Knackered like yourself when I first got it...I couldn't get a shave out of it and was about Chuck it away in Despair until an Old Friend from the States pointed this out to me...:p

He said he still gets caught out from time to time and he's had his from the 1970s...Some folks don't seem to get these issues with them and some do...I hate loading the F Type and the last time it took me about 5 minutes...I went into my 3 rd blade when I first got it before the penny dropped...All I can say is that the blade is getting run across the stops & you will need to find your way with it for yourself...I cant say anymore than that because its a Finicky Affair ....:)

So are you saying the F is just a pretty face? Not much of a shave?

On the Contrary...The F Type is one of the Finest Schick Injectors ever made...Its just that they can be somewhat awkward to load...Sometimes more than others when using a current injector key...The Chinese Schick injector key seems to fit it best but some don't go flush against the head at all...If you look closely at this advert it is suggesting that the F Type was using "New Double Thick Blades".....There is also a Magazine under the Razor with a separate Key...That was "Made from Plastic"....There were no other plastic injector magazines getting made at this time...They were all metal until into the 1950s at least...This advert just about confirms what I had already concluded for myself...The F Type was stopped being made before it went into full production on 1941 ...It was made of Billet Alloy & all Alloys were commandeered by the Military for the War Effort after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour...When its loaded correctly its an Almighty Shaver...:p

Those Dutch blades were some of the best Schick Injector Blades ever made...I must have snapped up just about the Whole EU stash of them at one point as most folks don't know what they are...:happy102:

Had exactly the same problem this week after getting lucky somehow up til then. I was loading a used chick blade which I knew was sharp and I could of swore I put in backwards. It was completely dulled by scraping across the injector side stop..... Billy is right that the key in new injectors is not adequate. I used a toothpick to push the blade back while loading the last one and wala perfect shaves.

Well then, the room at the top just got a bit more crowded. :happy036:

I took the Floating Head out for a spin this morning loaded with a nice NOS Twin Blade. The first few strokes were less than promising and I thought, "I wonder if this is going to be another one of those razors where you really have to find the sweet spot." Perhaps it is, but if so, I had no problem finding it after the first side of my face was shaved. The head seemed a little big at first but wow, what results. :happy088:

Rinsing off between passes it was obvious that this was going to be a very close shave. Not only was it shaving close, I found the Floating Head to be a very forgiving razor. I could be a little more aggressive and it continued to glide smoothly across my face without cuts, nicks, or weepers. Really easy to work the harder parts around my chin and lips. And, it was downright enjoyable. So enjoyable, I found myself chasing every last hint of stubble even after I couldn't find anything more. Suffice it to say I will be savoring this morning's shave all day long.

One other surprise for me. The floating head is not just a gimmick as I assumed. There were times when I could see it flex in the mirror while shaving. I have to believe that that is what allows it to be so forgiving. It really does adjust to the contours nicely. :happy108: Yeah, a truly superb razor. :git:
