The only number my B Type has is on the side of the stem that the head swivels on ...Its the Patent number...That's all there is...:)

I've turned the s/sheet into a public one that anyone can access and edit here - so if you have any entries to make feel free to go and add to the s/sheet there :)

If you have any trouble adding to it let me know and I'll be happy to help

Interesting...seems like the B's are not numbered but the A's and C's are....if, of course, these ARE serial numbers :)

    This is certainly interesting...
I've wondered if the C 1, 2, and 3 types were all manufactured and available simultaneously or whether the open comb came first and later the closed comb etc....But from the looks of this, if this is what we think it may be....Then they might all have come out at the same time...As you see Karl has a C3 which has the D (1936 ?) and Rufus has a C1 with the letter E (1937 ?)....So therefore they might have had all three style safety bars available from the start of the Schick Simplified Automatic Razor......Hmmmm

I'm going across the street to TOST and ask for their Schick Repeater Numbers....

Feel free to pass the link to the s/sheet to them if that makes gathering more of them easier :)

I've passed the link....There are a few guys over there with Repeaters...The more numbers we can get, the better...
Those guys over ther are dedicated Injector and SE guys, so I'm sure they will be interested in helping if possible...

Db....you might have instigated the first multi-board international shaving research project.....We might be witnessing history in the making....}8^))

I suppose another possibility could be...
    G 81......could be...1939-8th month-1 (maybe no. 1 made that Sept.?)
But probably more like 1939-81st unit...

My curiosity is going nuts...we need to get to the bottom of this....

One thing that strikes me is that it seems to have a structure:
Type A: Just a number 2-3 digits so far
    Type B: No numbers
Type C: [Letter]+[2-3 digits so far]

Now, I'm pretty sure they made over 1000 Type A razors so I'm thinking those numbers might be batches maybe?
Type C's I'm also thinking is batches but with the letter indicating year. Hmmm......

And if so...how many razors were there in a batch..?

Oh, @Bird Lives maybe tomorrow I'll include one more thing that might be interesting to track...the mysterious/hidden/rare star-mark on some of these repeaters and what that might stand for. There's a bit of a conspiracy theory behind all of that.... Stay tuned ;)

"There's more to these early repeating razors than meets the eye..."

    The STAR mark

It might be little known that the Type A Schick model actually came in three different models but they have never been really broken down into A1, A2 and A3 because the other two are relatively rare.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    In essence, one might break it down as follows;
    A1: "All chrome", smooth handle,
    A2: "All chrome, 'ornate' handle",
    A3: "Copper band handle"
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A1 - we've all seen as it's the 'common' out of the three
A3 - is the one that I posted photos of earlier - mine and one other member here on TSD have those
A2 - is semi-rare as they do come up with some frequency. This year I've seen 3-4 of them for sale (still kicking myself for not buying a near mint one for $50).
    Sample photo here:

It's also included on shaveworld over here

What is interesting to note with the "A2" razors is that...they have a "* 27" mark on the handle as per below:

Here is a thread that discusses that - and even tries to take it one step further...."what does the numbers on the boxes these razors come in mean....?"

So - what does that mean "for us"?
Well, we may now have an opportunity to confirm if the "* 27" is only for the "Ornate handled ones" (going forward, referred to as A2 for ease) - or if that marking was for a particular year/batch maybe. Maybe start by having everyone check for the * on their razors - regardless of model..?

We might even want to expand the s/sheet to include box number as these boxes for some reason have often survived - maybe there's a pattern to learn...?

    I leave you with a question...."why * 27"?

    The mystery of number 27

Or...could it be as simple as..... 1927?
    :)

Lol you beat me to it

    Still, interesting isn't it? :D

Maybe the 'Star' could denote the engraved Deluxe model?

Maybe. The Type A razors are 'plagued' with oddities like this.

For instance, check out this Type A:

It has no visual markings or serial/batch numbers...and if you look closer...the end cap is...a bit different:

    But wait. There's more....
This particular razor has a '12' on the SIDE of the head:

Maybe we also need to check the heads on all of our razors to get more pieces to the puzzle? :)

    Dam-da-daaaaaa........

Might the Schick Repeaters hold the secret to where the Holy Grail is buried....?

I think we need to get going on that spread sheet and gather all this information into it....

I've updated the s/sheet with a couple of more columns
