I like that is a very strong 'industrial' look to it. Almost a bit steampunk if you will.

Stahly arrived yesterday and I had my first shave with it this morning. First off i would like to thank one of the members here for swaying me in that direction but I can't find the post. Darkbulb the handle is in full working order. Impression ("shave nirvana") the shave is so smooth that for the first two swipes I didn't think I was shaving at all. I shaved with the vibrating feature for the entire shave and I'm sure it doesn't add closeness but it sure adds pleasure. A great beginners razor or experienced it just feels safe, so much so that I'm tempted to say that a child could shave with it but then if he had a need to do so he would belong in a circus. It gives the elusion of skillfulness. For a more aggressive shave a feather would do wonders in this razor IMHO. Love it and intend fully on using it again tomorrow. Thanks guys and thank you for being so helpful. :)

Wow. With that black handle it looks like a 74 Super Speed on steroids.

I'm sure the folks over on the haul thread would love to hear about new gear. it's sorta been our system; waiting to arrive on items you've ordered and are excited to show us/ haul for new items in your hand and first impressions.
great score on the Stahly, you won't be disappointed with it. do you have another handle to put the Stahly head on?

It reminds me of precision German and American machine tools from the 1920's, 30's and 40's. They often came in fitted wooden cases.

    For comparison:

Edit: I'm waiting on two last pieces of advice before I start, regarding time and fumes.

I do, I'm going to try it on my razorock bazooka fat handle as the head on that razor is useless anyway. I think it should work beautifully. :)

It's gorgeous, the case is fantastic it has a very personalized feel to it for that razor let's you know care was taken. More often than not these days things are just flung into a box and thrown on a shelf. Post your impressions when received and put to use I'm interested.

Ordered two inexpensive shaving creams from a UK vendor via the jungle online. Never used these but reviews seem favorable.
*Palmolive For Men Classic Palm Extract Shave Cream 100ml
    *Ingram shaving cream lather 100mls

Is it just my imagination, the angle or what? Or is that long handle extraordinarily long?

Palmolive is one of the best "bang for the buck" shaving creams in Germany for sure - and it's the one I started my DE shaving career with. Available in every supermarket here in germany, usually for about 80 or 90 cents. The Speick men cream is top on my list - better performer, but costs at least 3 times as much.

Speick is my next trial cream. Not the easiest one to find here at a brick & mortar. If all else fails I will order online.

Probably the lack of referents for scale. I still look at bare pictures of razors and think they look huge. :)

The long handle is 104 mm, making the overall length of the razor land in the Gillette Super Adjustable 109 territory.
