I hadn't used my Damaskeene in quite some time and that was for it's maiden voyage. I wanted something mild that wouldn't be as aggressive (it's late in the afternoon and I'd like to have something to shave tomorrow as my oldest is ready for vintage shave #2.) I just had a great shave with it. Glad I picked it up again.

    T&H Wellington Super Badger
    AOS Lavender Cream
    GEM Damaskeene
GEM PTFE SS (3) with half spine shim
    Osma Alum Block

Spidey!! You should have warned us man.....I just unsuspectedly walked right in to this pic and almost fell off the couch....:happy102::happy096: Thats some breathtaking SE Splender right there of Cecil B DeMille Proportions...You could sell tickets for private showings...:happy088: I think you need to take some shots of different sub groups so we can appreciate the detail on some of these beautiful pieces....Does the Smithsonian know about this? }8^))

I am another fan who can't wait to hear your stroke by stroke shave report.....That is one sexy beast.....Is it just me, or is it getting HOT in here..?

There you've heard it folks....I'm telling you.....Rufus is a natural for our "Man on the street" reporter segment...I think along the same lines as @Darkbulb , that Ru should do a Weekly Wrap-Up Article on a regular basis...

Man....my Pop picked up a 1955 Hydro-magic and a H type Fashion razor for Mom, on the same trip to the Drug store back in 1955....The I2 had just made the scene and he copped both....

Mom did not dig the H type and then started using Dad's I2....And the funny thing was she would forget to tell him, and he would always come out of his shave cave the following morning...:kar:He thought that Schick Fashion razor would knock her out....opps! Well after almost a year of discovering a dull blade from Mom having her way with Pop's Hydro-magic, Mom received her very own Hydro-magic as a Stocking Stuffer...ha,ha...
So I'd love to know how that H type will score with you cats...but I do know with Mom, it took up lodging in a storage drawer pretty quickly....:lyrtuy5: As soon as she got her own Hydro-magic, and later a J type about the day they showed up on the Drug Store Shelves....

Stop Stockpiling NOS Blade Masterpieces ???
    Billy...Come on Man...Say it ain't so.....You know you don't mean that!
Stock-piling those great blades is a GOOD thing....a very very good thing....:happy088:

We all need to know where we can crash if and when the Shaveacolypse hits, and that there is still a safe haven where the shavecave shelves are stocked with 74s and Dutch Schick blades....

    :char039:
My thanks, for a very thoughtful gesture....:happy096:

@Karl G , remember I told you a story about wanting one many Decades ago...and you said I should get one now...and enjoy the Delayed Gratification.......Well she's on her way.....Heres a photo of this lovely that Hodge took...

    image.jpg

There will be an intense review and shave offs....as soon as this lovely makes the scene.....I can't wait to join the ranks of our PAL Brotherhood....

    Copied from my SOTD post:

Had the first shave with the Schick Type O this morning.

    Short version:
Holy cow - this razor is amazing. Get one if you can, love it!

    Long version:
Loaded up the razor with one of the vintage Schick twin injector blades that @Billyfergie 's cousin was selling a couple of months ago.
Lathered up some Jabonman Rosas soap with my new Fitjar 2233 brush (that is one super floppy brush btw and I am not too keen on how the handle feels in my hand. It lathered well but not sure it can ever work itself up to being in regular rotation. Next I'm gonna try the smaller 2190) and went to work...

I could tell already from the first stroke that this was going to be a great shave.
The rubberized/textured handle felt great and finding the correct angle was effortless and immediate (a opposed to the Type F that I had to struggle with quite a bit).
Completed the first pass (WTG) and it was a truly pleasant experience. The razor felt mild but took no prisoners as it mowed down the stubble.

Went back for a second and last pass (ATG) and I was in love. This razor. Is amazing. The feel of the handle, the efficient head and how easy it is to dial in made this one of the best shaves in a long time.

    Short recap on gear used:
Schick Type O: 11/10. Amazing razor. In my s/sheet it is right now the second razor (out of 63 razors so far) that I've given a 9.5/10 (the other one is the Tradere OC DE razor).
Fitjar 2233 brush: Sadly, so far, a 4/10. A bit too floppy and the handle didn't feel comfortable due to the sharp, flared out base.
Jabonman Rosas: 8/10 Great lather and scent. Wish the lather was just a tad thicker and the scent a tad stronger but overall a great performer.
Floid Blue: Funny how things are. This one has climbed up the A/S ranks and is now probably my go-to A/S :)

I have to give credit where credit is due.....This quote started with @battle.munky ....When he got the Best BBSs he would say, "Like petting a Dolphin..." Ha,ha....I now plagerize him at will....:happy097:

Those Schick Twin Blades that you got from my Cousin do make a difference in later injectors for sure...Its actually hard to tell folks that have never used them...As you will know these Schick O Types were made until recent years and very popular in Japan...That's why the Schick Twin Blades are still currently being made in Japan for these Type O Injectors...I would bet that you would find it to be half the shaver with a Single blade...Glad you like it..:p

I now think these days, the true test of a set-up, is the day after getting an incredible BBS....aswell as with a three day growth....Two different good testing scenarios...But in the aftermath of a great shave, it's very hard to get a "Dolphin Petting" BBS.....Congrats, you deserve it....:happy088: And enjoy the rest the day of guilt free 'faceturbating' ....:happy108:

That Schick Type E 2 is some Combo with the Feather Pro Blade...Very sharp, smooth & surprisingly quite reasonably forgiving...Its up there with those NOS Personna 74 s and that saying something...:)

I bought a lot on eBay for the minimum bid because I saw a scummy and possibly worn G3 in there that evidently no one else spotted. It came up nicer than I thought but has a couple of dents in the bottom of the handle. The plating was in overall really good shape. Now I just have to decide if I'm keeping it for a future gift to one of my son's, sell it somewhere, or hold onto it for trade purposes. In the meantime, I'm doing a little happy dance. :happy093:

In the bargain was also a nearly flawless Featherweight, and 2 OC old DEs. One is a cracked handle ball end, no idea of the other one. Time to put a posting on a DE forum somewhere for ID purposes.

Pics after initial cleaning below. The end of the handle shot is deceiving. The only plate loss is some wear on the ferrule at the top end of the handle.
