    Just depends.
My 10049 took a month of everyday use.
    My 10098 took a couple a weeks.
My 11574 was great right out of the box.

My frame of reference is limited. Inexpensive. So boar brushes have been my path.
First brush was a VDH that came with a puck of soap. I picked up a Marvy/Omega 10098 that hasn't seen much use. A bit floppy for a boar, but it's got quite the loft. Earlier this week I purchased two new Omegas; A 10048 that's breaking in well, and a 80005 that I've only felt up, hasn't been used. I might save the last one for a gift to family or friends.
    From left to right; VDH, 80005, 10048, & 10098.

I'm really liking the fat handle on that chrome #48. It's dropped a few bristles as expected from a boar that cost less than $20. Having a significant diameter knot, 28mm, it holds plenty soap for three or more passes.

I just bought the 11574! It is a boar and has a great weight to the handle. Will try it for the first time tonight and get started breaking it in.

I love the 20102. But that's only good when you like large brushes.

I've never owned a bad omega, I like their badgers as well! Everyone loves their boat brushes but nobody talks much about their badger brushes.

The 10066 is my go to brush. It makes me want more boar.

I am a big brush fan and the 10098 is my favorite Omega. Great brushes and great value for the quality Omega is known for.

You should send it to a member that lives in the country who could destroy it in some sort of spectacular fashion, while filming it for you.
