Nice one...I do find that the Personna blades take Milder injectors up a Notch ...:)

I really like the Personna blades but maybe that's because I spend most of my time with my I's, J's, and L's. The Chicks are nice too but not quite as smooth as the Personnas IMO.

Yeah that's on the Ball Sir...All personal it is...I have always pertained to the view as long as folks don't get Hung Up on a "One Blade Fits all" Injectors attitude and they will get the best performance from them...:)

(as posted on the SOTD thread)

    SOTD - No Variation NoVember
This month is perfect for me to learn skills with new-to-me equipment.

60 yo newbie’s intro to traditional shaving. (Week 29 AC*)

    Razor: Mongoose B3
Blades: Feather Artist Club Professional (5)
    Soap: Saponificio Varesino Manna
    Brush: Omega 31025 Scarlatti Boar
AS: Changes at will. Today: Myrsol Plastic Shave

    11-30-15.JPG

My mid-morning shave yesterday (Sunday) was so close that I decided that I would do a one-pass ATG shave this morning. Face-lather.

This was the last day of my month-long intro to the Mongoose - my first use of a non-vintage razor. Between a design totally different than what I was used to and the sharpest most unforgiving blade I’ve ever used - this month challenged and ultimately further developed my skills.

Simply, this combo is capable of incredibly close shaves that requires sharp focus at all times (for me). Whereas I can get away with a mental lapse now and then with other razors without needing a transfusion!

It will definitely find a place in my rotation, though with so many razors yet to try - getting to a set rotation may take awhile!

Why oh why did I wait sooooo long to dump my carts! :angry032:

    Cheers!

    :signs011: for me too Billy!

I certainly don't have a bunch of experience at this, but those Feather Pro blades are killer sharp - and for those who can mind their technique - extremely smooth, efficient and close! :happy088:

    USA Made Schick Type E 3 Injector..:p

    Three Pass Routine..

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
USA Made Schick Type E 3 Injector
Feather Pro Injector Blade ( Cut Down ) New
    Semogue Boar Brush
Erasmic Shaving Soap (added Argan oil)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
LOGONA Mann Aftershave Balm (From Germany)

I had an outing with My USA Made Schick Type E 3 today...This one is a somewhat Rarer Model that was issued to the US Navy during the War Years...It has the Ivory Seamed Handle like the later Type G 1...The G 1 Seamed Handle was actually a Clone of these earlier E Types..I also have 2 Canadian Type E 3 s and they all shave the same in terms of Aggressiveness ....I used to think that the Canadian Type E 3 s were milder than the USA Made Type E 3s but they are not...They all shave pretty much the same...The Type E 3 injectors are far Milder than the early Type E 2 that opens....No Bones about It...I have tried Chinese Schick blades in the Type E 3s and I must say that I was seriously disappointed in its performance...Too Darn Mild for my liking...:)

All personal of course but to me the Type E 3 just doesn't lick the boots from earlier Type E Injectors ....To be honest...I find the G Type to be far more efficient with a Feather Pro Blade...That said I managed to achieve a BBS with a couple of weepers on the neck...Not my favourite Schick Injector but Hey maybe I am just spoiled with some of the more Aggressive Injectors in my collection....Its a Damn Fine Shaver..:p

Two new injectors arrived today. PAL injecto-matic and a Schick G1 i believe. @Billyfergie I am a bit confused about this one. It has both patent numbers as you state but on the back of razor it says Schick injector. It has the seamed handle. Is it an E3 or G1?
Thanks for your help on this one.

    Tom

    first the PAL
    l[IMG]

Now the Schick it still has the brass blank in it and all of the original blades in the injector.

I understand the confusion here Sir...Took me ages to Suss this one out...The Type G 1 was introduced in 1946 with the Eversharp take over as you will know...Here is the thing....The early Type G 1 Injectors had Schick Injector stamped on them for the first couple of years at least...This was part of the take over Deal & Eversharp were not happy about it...That one you have here then is an early Type G 1 with the Schick injector stamp which was the Schick Repeating Razor Company Hallmark..;)

Eversharp were so unhappy about this arrangement that they brought out a Limited Edition Gold Plated G 2 on the Christmas of 1946 with a Solid Handle and this was the first ever G Type with Eversharp stamped on it...Eversharp brought out another Limited Edition Gold Plated Type G 3 on the Christmas of 1947 with a Hollow Handle and it also had Eversharp stamped on it...It wasn't until at least Mid 1948 that the Type G 1 injectors had Eversharp stamped on them though...I hope this clarifies things...You have an early Type G 1 on your hands...:)

Ever thought about putting pen to paper and write book on Injector history? I know I'd line up to get it.

Billy thanks again. You always come thru. So is the case I have not really for my razor. It has 1940 on the back for the guarantee. Or did they use what they had? I know another silly question.
Also are the blades it came with worth using?

Well..That is NOS if its got a blank in it and the box looks in the same condition...They are referring to the 20 year guarantee that came out in the year 1940 not the manufacture year of the razor...This one used to confuse the hell out of me as well until I pinned it down...So that's the 1940 Guarantee they are referring to that was on many cases including later ones...;)
