I have two 35mm SLRs and a DSLR. Understanding the lighting is critical. I bought some add on lenses for my IPhone and use that most of the time because it is easier.

That might make your "den" worth showing us on here, ehh? :)

SOTD- travel set up. Pre-war fat handled tech, voshoad blade on its third shave, homestead ranch goat butter soap, omega boat travel brush, Thayer's witch hazel. Two pass and done. Last week's cut is to the itchy phase, but I shaved around it. BBS, with an A- for irritation. Good shave.

I know what you mean. My goal right now is to better understand and utilize the aperture setting to change the depth of field. Who knows I might attend one of the evening photography classes at the local community college.

I think "den" is a loosely used word to describe ones shaving area. My den is spread out, a cabinet, 2 dresser drawers, dresser top, nightstand drawer, large tub, stock on top of tub, 20 pocket closet door rack, and any nook and cranny I can find.

Like Adam, I'm traveling this week, but I took Oct and Nov off from the focus. This will be a menthol month starting tomorrow. Today included an arko face lather with omega 48 and merkur progress with a 2nd day derby blade. Quick 3 pass shave before heading off to the airport. A bit of bay rum clubman and Stirling unscented post shave balm and I'm good to go with a dfs.

Hotsauce, the anti menthol. You've had frozen face, try heated. After all, whats the worst that could happen?

    2 things.

To use straight razors for the entire month to better my technique, and to use the shaving mug to work my lather to better my lathering technique in that too.

......unless y'all wanna have a DEcember, cause I'd be up for that too. :)

@Seabs Just remember proper handling . . . of the menthol not anything else!

Welcome back and that looks like a great collection of "cool" to shave with!

I think there is a pretty good collection of razors being used from straights to pain sticks to SE and DE . . . maybe even a rusted can lid by Neal @NCoxSTL by the time the month is done.

I will be doing DEcember using my 58 executive and if I get it down then my fat handled tech.

Whatever you choose, join in and share your shaves! Look forward to reading about them!

Clint, I would like to convert all of my soaps to a shave stick, much easier application and storage. Since I'm a face latherer it works out very well. Thanks again for the hook up!! :happy088:

No rusted can lid on the schedule at this time, though it may be preferable to another item I'm looking at.

Who knew we'd discover there's a need for proper menthol technique to avoid major hazards? You really do learn something new here everyday.
