Hello everybody

Day 2 of my "bargain focus", same setup as day 1:

- Proraso white
- Omega 49
- Rimei 2003
- Rimei blade
- Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser

Same nice shave as yesterday, no problem at all with the cheap Chinese hardware. I just think that my face did not stay smooth just as long as it did with the R89 and the GSB blades (I could feel the first stubbles in the afternoon yesterday, hours earlier than usual).

This time I did not abuse the soap as much as I did the first time - and the brush was a little drier, so I got just a little more lather than I actually needed. The Proraso is a really good performer, but I'd actually prefer it if the soap was unscented. And I think the Omega is a bit too big for my taste. Very soft and a real lathering monster, but I like smaller brushes better.

If I wanna stay true to the motto "if you don't love it, PIF it", I'll just give away another small shaving set soon I like the razor, but I have two of the original Techs, so I don't really need it.

 

I would not hesitate sending them another razor or two myself, this FB has been done very well!

 

Well here's the full strip that came from. Opus and Bill the Cat run for President and VP for the Meadow Party in Bloom County (Bill the Cat for Pres, Opus V.P.). So Berkely Breathed has great fun taking shots at the system.

The Rimei is a nice, though mild, little razor. I was surprised when I tried it. And the Rimei blade - so far the only Chinese blade that doesn't make me want to boycott them. That's a good bargain setup you've put together.

 

Yup - the blade surprised me as well. I was a little scared at first, because all the other promo blades that came with my razors (Mühle and Merkur) have been rather dreadful. Haven't tried any other chinese blades though And apparently I don't have to ...

 

I have four more on my list for the month. And I cringe seeing their names on there based on past experience. Maybe I've gone through the bad ones already but my faith isn't too steady when it comes to them.

I think the last focus month helped a lot. My technique improved quite a bit actually and I think I'd be able to get good or at least non-lethal shaves from almost any razor now

 

That's really great! I am glad it is working out for you.

 

Some of them haven't used even that grade of metal.

Thanks Neil, My lather was much better yesterday. I was thinking of skipping adding water to the puck tomorrow, but now I'll add the water and just load the brush more. I did 10 seconds today and 20 seconds yesterday. Maybe I'll go 30 tomorrow and see how it is. Somehow, I don't think I'll be consistent with my bowl and face lathering in 6 days using this soap. But that's OK. It's not a race, and this is a fine soap.
