I have been cleaning out what was my wife's bathroom, and ran across this in an old medicine cabinet that was stashed in the back of the closet. At one time we were talking about cleaning it up and installing in my bathroom. This was waiting for me to find. 1955 A2, I will clean it up and take it for a test drive. Dave
Did the Scrubbing Bubbles and the Dawn treatment. Think it could use a polish on it, I know this topic has been covered numerous times here in the Den. Dave
A toothbrush and kaboom does wonders sometimes. There is a polish called simichrome that has worked great for me.
The dust bunnies were guarding it. I was actually hoping there would be some vintage aftershaves, but no luck with that. Dave
Well, it did clean up pretty good, but you can not tell by this photo. I need to take lessons. Polished it with Brasso that I found in the garage. This is the set up for tomorrow morning.
Brasso is really abrasive. Use it a few too many times and you'll be looking at bare brass and aluminum. Now that that's out of the way, I have a blue tip as well and really enjoy using it on those days when I just want to have a nice 4 or 5 pass shave with no irritation. Two passes is enough to get me out the door with a blue tip, but I like having a relaxed lengthy shave every once in a while.
