7. [IMG][/IMG] SOTD Night of 12/2
Prep: Shower w/ Nivea Men's Energy Face Scrub
Pre-Shave: Maggard Eucalyptus Pre-Shave Oil
Shave Soap: Catie's Bubbles LPV
Brush: Jack Black Synthetic (Private Labeled Muhle)
Razor/ Blade: Q-Brothers Muhle/ Personna Lab Blue (1)
Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Post-Shave Balm: Jack Black Gel
Aftershave Splash: Gillette Cool Wave

Great shave today. I am really enjoying the Q-Brothers Muhle razor--mild/ medium aggressiveness but still gets close. Maggard Pre-shave oil seemed pretty good. It wasn't one of those oils that slows the blade down. Just smelled like olive oil to me though, but I like how cheap it is. 2 oz for $7. First time using Catie's Bubbles LPV. VERY soft soap, almost a cream. Smell was great--woodsy with a touch of spice. Lathered very quickly and was very thick. Could take in a decent amount of water. I was very impressed with how thick it felt. The Jack Black synthetic brush is one of my favorite brushes. Good backbone but super soft and no animal smell. Thayer's has proven to be great for my skin. Very hydrating and feels great. I don't like the Jack Black post shave gel. It smells weird, doesn't soak in, and leaves your face sticky. It is also very expensive--$30 for 3 oz? I was expecting much more. Gillette Cool Wave smells great and my face was hydrated all day due to the Thayers. Love the personna Lab Blue blades as well, might be my new favorite blade!

I went for it, and finally achieved dare I say BBS results with a straight. I used a different pass to attack my "problem" patches which always held me back. Finally got it!

Have a great day gents

12. After shaving with the official Leresche #77 yesterday I decided to try out the 'prototype 77' (unless @Cha-wing!! has a better name for it) this morning.

Quite to my surprise I actually preferred this version to the 'official #77' - the head was more audible and smoother and delivered the same fantastic, clean and effortless shave.
Fantastic razor - really makes me with they had carried this head design into more modern offerings.

I don't use my Becker scuttle a whole lot but this morning we were faced with some arctic temperatures around 50F so I thought it was very apt to bring it out.
My 10 year old NOS eShave brush performed swimmingly and whipped up a nice lather from the the Speick Active cream in no time.
Never really having tried Speick until very recently I am very impressed both by scent, performance and price.

13. The sun finally came out here in DC and getting to work from the "home office" (local coffeeshop) today...channeling my inner lumberjack, flannel and all!

Prep: Hot shower with Noxema Classic
Pre: AhhOui PSO (tea tree/eucalyptus)
Razor: Merkur HD
Blade: Astra SP
Lather: Chiseled Face "Cedar & Spice"
Brush: Omega Pro48
Post: Cold water cloth, Thayers Unscented, Nivea Sensitive ASB

First time out with the Chiseled Face and not sure if I'm feeling it (both fragrance and performance). Beautiful lather, but I struggled to get good cushion today.
Possibly just an off day?

Give em hell today, folks!

14. I wanted to see if the already spectacular shave that the PAL Injecto Matic provides could be amped up even further with the use of a modified Feather Professional Blade. Throwing caution to the wind I gave it a shot today and I am happy to report you can put a Feather in a PAL and not slice layers of your face off. In fact, it was a smooth, super close shave. A light touch was all that was required. BUT, is it a better shave than what I already get with a Schick blade? I'm undecided, I need more data...

17. Day 2 - DEcember 2015

Planned SOTD - 3 December 2015

image.jpeg

DeFitch Closed Comb DE
Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Proraso Green
L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic
Alum
TSD ISZ AS Splash under Mennen Skin Bracer

Day three on tap with the DeFitch. Looking forward to another nice shave. This razor was a cool little discovery, and is suitable for shavers if all experience and skill levels. I will catch this shave in a couple of hours...but until then, more work to be done on the prairie. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

Have a great afternoon!
