OK, second time's a charm, right? With the newly modified Feather loaded into the PAL I stepped into the world of aggressive shaving amped up. No tugging this time so I must have avoided totally buggering the blade. To cut to the chase, I got a super close shave, easy to handle, minimal weepers (they closed before I got to the cold water rinse off) and probably won't need to shave for another 36 hours. No doubt about it, you can use the Feather in the PAL and not worry about maiming yourself. Standard YMMV caveat applies, of course. A light touch and you are off to the races.
But, the bigger question is do these super sharp blades shave better in the PAL than standard Schicks? On this point I am undecided. I mean, really, when you are already at the edge of transcending BBS with a smooth shave experience can you really go further? Fortunately, there is only one sure way to answer this which is to get a second PAL so I can do a proper shave off.
I do have a purple necked British job on my wanted list but that wouldn't do since I'd be comparing Macintoshes and Granny Smiths so to speak. So, this may be unresolved for some time unless I start spending more time with my PAL and get more familiar with the points of comparison. Then again, by tomorrow night I might notice a difference in how long this shave holds vs prior experiences. We'll just have to see.
