They cleaned up well with the slim being the nicest in my collection so far. Almost perfect with no paint loss in the numbers.
1951 Canadian Rocket "SuperSpeed" style W2 date code. No made in, but case states Made in England. Canadian issued by code. Rare ? http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece solid guard bar/1951 (W1) Canadian Rocket.JPG
I finally added another Lady Gillette to the collection this week. I've had a blue one for a while and hadn't found any other colors at a decent price so this champagne example at $20 is a welcome addition. Interestingly enough, when I showed it to my wife, she asked if I would buy one for her. I immediately told her that she could use this one to which she replied that I should get a second one as she didn't want to use one from the "collection". I was born at night but it wasn't last night so I instantly realized that she had just given me permission to buy more razors.
If I was ever going to get into SR shaving this is the type of razor I would want. Can I ask why would the chief postal inspector need to inspect a razor? Seems like a waste of time. I have CF Sherlock and love it! Congrats on a superb haul!!
Thanks. I tried the Yardley stick yesterday and it was pretty good. One to look out for is Royal London. That stuff is hard to find but is incredible.
OK boys and girls, today our flea market $2 outlay today got us a Schick "M38" marked injector and a... and a... um.... a...HellIfIKnow lever action, crudely made safety razor with no identifying marks. It does have a pleasing bit of scroll work up the side but nothing else.
I have no idea why he inspected it, I thought the package was lost in shipping personally, but I guess they were just inspecting it.
Received my $6 bottle (free shipping) of Barbus from Slovenia. I like the history behind the product in that it has not changed for 50+ years. The scent I'm not completely sold on yet...it came across rather medicinal..a strong smell of alcohol maybe - but the skin feel/effect is quite extraordinary and I would be inclined to rate it up there with Floid and Myrsol. A product I'm looking forward to exploring more in the shaves ahead.
Another find today at a new shop that opened near my office.... an O3 long handles Black Beauty with blades and case. Good dark paint in the numbers and a minor scratch on the head. U doubt the blade case is correct but.....
Interesting.... that's it? I expected you to have reference pictures and know exactly what it was along with a Waites quote or two. lol
