  1. Thanks Ru....If this PAL keeps performing like this....then this and my C2 you laid on me will be my two favorites...My EverReadys might not be too happy about that...

Hey....what am I talking about....this PAL was made by EverReady....I always have had a soft spot for Schicks and EverReadys.....:happy088:

  3. The Ever Ready 1914 has been on my list for a while. I finally found one in great condition at a good price and quickly pressed it into service. It cleaned up wonderfully. What appeared to be a really good condition razor cleaned up as an excellent, near mint razor. :happy093: So far, so good. The head clamps very tight and I can see why so many of these have plate loss by the edge where it says, "Lift Here." No doubt many fingers slipped and rubbed it harder when attempting to open it. I loaded it with a fresh GEM SS PTFE and a GEM half spine shim and was ready to go.

Right from the first stroke I knew I was going to really, really like this razor. Good feedback, light on the face, smooth and easy to handle. Finding and keeping a good shave angle was simple enough, nothing to it really. Three passes and some touch ups later it was confirmed - this is one excellent razor deserving of all the praise it regularly gets. My face is smooth, smooth, smooth with no irritation. However, I can see where the easy manner of the 1914 could lead to overconfidence or pushing it a little too much. A lighter touch and a little restraint is all that is needed. If it has any faults it is that the leading comb makes it a little harder than some other razors to get under the nose. A minor point as I find it is always easy to clean up anything missed in this area with some XTG or ATG short strokes. :happy088:

Verdict? Yeah baby, make my day.

  7. I'm taking a step away from Schick razors today and trying the Mongoose for the first time. It is a drastic departure from any SE razor Ive ever used and the only one under the age of 75.

I just had a the most wonderful shave of my life with my Schick adjustable & NOS Personna Twin blades...This is my 4th ...Three pass shave on these blades & I cant feel them dropping off...I have heard it said that Twin blades are going down the Cartridge path...These Twin blades for folks that are not familiar with them are nothing like a Cartridge System...These blades are not spaced apart like a Cartridge Razor....They are literally Two Blades "Wedged Together" and or sand waged one on top of the other...Dolphin Smooth, Refreshed & Ready for a Pint at the Local Boozer..:eatdrink047:

  14. You might not be able to put it down for awhile, at least that's what I think. When I got mine a few months ago I shaved with it for 3 weeks in a row. I'm still using it 2 or 3 times a week. Let us know how you like it.
  15. So true. I got mine on 12/31/14 and have used it over 160 times this year.
  16. First time seeing one of these. Visited antique mall. Appears to be SE razor.
Kind of reminds me of a Rolls Razor.

  18. A big thanks to Chief Razor Scout @Karl G , for his advance tracking skills and hunting down this hidden gem for me.

I am now the proud owner of a USA Schick E2! I also have a Canadian Type E so I wanted to do a little comparison at some point.

But for now I’m anxious to take the new E2 out for a Sunday drive tomorrow. Any of you injector fanatics have one of these? (HA!) Whats your favorite blade for it?

    Cheers!

Very excited about this razor - you're the best Karl! :happy088:

You can't go wrong with the Chick. It is soo smooth but nice and aggressive. You will love the shave it gives.
Don't worry Billy will be replying on blade options for you.

Enjoy its maiden voyage. It will destroy your whiskers.

  20. Yeah, I could see me staying with the Goose for awhile. I pulled off an incredibly smooth shave with it and know I want to get know it better....that is until my D gets here :D
