I didnt really need to shave yet but wanted to give the Mongoose another go with one of the different blades I received in my sample pack. Today the Kamisori blade got the nod and Im thinking this is a milder blade and more pleasant than the Kai Captain I used yesterday. These blades are scary sharp compared to the injector blades Ive been using in Schick razors.

Anyhow, the Goose is a winner in my books. Until I get a lighter handle Im not ready to call it my favorite yet.

    2-pass shave.

Just picked this razor up to compare to my Canadian Type E.

First pass, was a bit less reduction than hoped, but had the angle set with the razor flat against my face.

Second pass was just a few degrees off the flat head - made all the difference! The feedback was like Velcro yet very thorough. Result was very smooth and close.

This razor will get a 30-day focus in the new year.
Big thanks to @Karl G for hunting this razor down for me!

    Cheers!

That's a Canadian equivalent of the USA Made Type E 4...These can be identified as having no lugs on the spring the same as the later G Types & have the Ridged Comb Design..I have two of the Canadian Type E 3 Injectors & these are the same heads with the lugs removed from the spring....They are a bit Milder than the Type E 2s..The Type E 2s all had a smooth comb design ...That's a lovely example...One of the Milder Type E Injectors for sure..;)

    My Sunday night shave
    [IMG]

Today the wife and I went to a small Market chain I believe is just in California. Trader Joe's. Any how on the flier my wife noticed that they had a shaving soap kit that included 6oz of soap (really croap) 2oz of balm scented in Sandalwood and a nylon brush included for $9and change. So Decided to give it a go. I used a Chick blade with 3 previous shaves on it.

So for tonights shave I used all of the Trader Joe products.. For the razor I chose my favorite weapon. The PAL. I had 2 days growth.

So I wet the brush and gave it a good swirl in the soap. Being so soft of soap I over loaded the brush a bit. I started to make the lather in a bowl. I found that it did not lather the same as my other soaps or creams. This product has Shea Butter and coconut oil as some of the ingredients. As it was not lathering as I am accustomed to I added more water. This brought things up some more. I decided to go ahead and apply to my face. This is some very creamy lather and the synthetic brush was satisfactory at applying the thick lather.

I did my standard first pass WTG. my PAL just glad over my face. Had a fantastic first reduction. I wet my hands and felt mainly how the soap felt on my face. Along with great reduction my face was still nice and slick. I dipped the tip of the brush and gave it a few more swirls in the bowl to see if I could thin the lather some more.

I applied the second coat and proceeded with my XTG pass. Again my PAL just slid like there was nothing there. Zero tugging. Wet my hands and felt around, Very slick face this time. I had a CCS at this point. This is the type of shave I used to think was really good before wet shaving.

Really love my PAL so needles to say I went for a third pass ATG. I lathered one last time. I really believe I could have done my final pass with only rewetting my face it was that slick feeling. Finished off my third pass with only a minor touchup on my chin. BBS, I think this one will last all day tomorrow. I then applied the Balm.

Overall I was pretty pleased with these cheap products I picked up today. I will not be using the brush again in my rotation but it worked fine. Shed no hair, that is good. As for the Croap it has an interesting scent. Not really a Sandalwood to me. Had my wife smell it and she likes the scent. The Croap has a very light cooling feeling on your face. It does have Menthol Crystals as an ingredient. Very mild though.

I must say that my face has absolutely no irritation PAL baby. but the soap and balm did a great job of moisturizing my face. I have not had my face feel so soft and smooth. Hard to explain except it feels really hydrated.

If you have a Trader Joe"s around I say give it a shot.

Today, my shave was a tribute shave in honor of @Rufus T. 's new Schick E2....
I used the Arko Stick and Omega 10029 to whip up a great lather...and I broke out my Schick E2 'Old Spanner' and Chinese Schick blades....The results were a very smooth BBS, a tad of burn with the Clubman Classic Vanilla splash, but nothing too spicy....There is no wonder these Schicks captured the hearts and whiskers of so many shavers and firmly established Schick as a major player in the American markets....Plus, I so love these butterscotch bakelite handles....:love055:

Maybe they will bite...but only if provoked :happy097:....And I can't seem to think of my PAL without the word "Smooth" popping into my mind....

    I'm deeply honored MrB!
I'm right there with you all. Injector razors are slowly, surely taking over as the most prevalent razor in my den. In planning out my focus months for next year - injectors dominate and my C1 Repeater is slated to become my travel razor.

Twelve hours after my inaugural E2 shave today I am still mostly BBS, a very sweet ride!

    Cheers!

Me too....about 12 hours aswell....:happy088: I'm going to have to check out Billy F's E2/Feather-pro recommendation, but I'm afraid I wouldn't need to shave the next day...:happy108:

Ha! That's a great point MrB!

Our quest for better and better shaves may in fact be counter productive, as perhaps they would eliminate the need for the next days' shave?!!!

I'm gonna have meditate and ponder this one! :signs002:

Dem be the best injector blades there are. I still got 50+ so I'm good.

Note: Please check that these blades will work with the injector you intend to use them in as they don't fit all injector razors. To quote @Billyfergie
"/.../they are suitable for all Schick's that were made after the G type that do not have the "Rinsing Lever Function"....o_O"
and then I'm pretty sure there were some dog danglies thrown in as well :D

Having said that, I believe Billy is now on his way to prove that they can also be used in the Schick A, B and C? :)
