Occasionally we hear objections to shaving from men who say "The beard exists and grows for a reason." Okay, maybe so. But the implication is that to shave one's beard is to be less than who nature or nature's God intended you, as a man, to be. That's a fair point that can be honestly debated like gentlemen. But what are we, the shaven, supposed to think about this? http://acculturated.com/glitter-beards/ These guys are bearded, after all...heavily so...but oh so sparkly. It's like Paul Bunyan Goes to the Castro District, or Jeremiah Johnson Meets My Little Pony. This post is mostly tongue-in-cheek. I know most bearded men would be aghast at the thought of glitter in almost any setting, much less adhered to their beards.
I just agree with everything written in that article. If I still had a beard I just wouldn't be thinking hey let's put glitter in this thing that'll look good. Maybe I'm just old and unfashionable but it means no glitter on my face then that's fine with me.
One could also say "Hair exists and grows for a reason, so there is no reason to get a haircut" or "body odor exists for a reason, so there is no reason to take a bath". I think a well groomed beard is fine and manly. But glitter beards? That's pretty funny, akin to man buns and man purses. . The Art of My Little Pony Manliness?
I prefer to be clean shaven. I happen too think that's what looks best on me. but others can choose their way, I'm ok to let them. but I'd say that glitter would be preferable to yesterday's lunch in some dudes beard. that's just nasty.
Sheeeeesh! It the logical step after guys started wearing TWO earrings. My opnion, guys. It's your body. Do to it as you please.
