That straight edge is a bit dicey looking. May have to remove a bit o' metal to get to a solid edge. Here's another 'Extra Hollow Ground' razor— this Wostenholm 'Pipe' round-point arrived this morning. Thin, bone scales and a blade in need of some clean-up. I do like the jimped thumb notch!
I just ordered my second blue one. I was thinking of asking Delta Echo Razor Works to give it a more masculine look.
Just received some second hand soaps in the mail today: 2 pucks of I Coloniali, and 5 oz of Myrsol shaving croap (from the kilo tub). Tried the I Coloniali a few minutes ago and it is a great soap.
I received an Extra Hollow Ground in the mail today as well. This one by Wade and Butcher. Pretty decent shape, but the edge needed a little touch up and a good stropping. The lines on the blade are reflections of the ceiling fan blades.
I've been trying to cut back on my RAD but excellent bargains keep presenting themselves to me. I won a double auction last week for $27 shipped which consisted of a 40's Rocket and what is most likely a gold pre-war Ball End Tech (USA). The Rocket is really what I was after and is in excellent shape and cleaned up great. The gold plating on Tech is about 70% gone but mechanically it's in excellent shape too. I have to go on a "No Buy 2016" ( or at least until July) as I've obtained 7 new razors over the last 2-months and have a lot of stuff to try out.
Just in now from Italian Barber! 1x Mickey Lee Soapworks Paradise Frost SS 1x Fine Snake Bite AS 1x Folsom & Company Shambala AS Man, do these goodies ever smell nice - especially the Paradise Frost soap and the Shambala aftershave!
The Snake Bite is supposed to be a menthol atomb bomb and the Shambala is milder but still cooling. The Paradise Frost soap is supposed to be cooling but I'll only know to what extent tomorrow!
