As with a lot of members here at TSD, I've had a number of razors I've purchased and many I've sold. For the majority of those sales, I've been a contented seller. But there were a few instances where I've had a tinge of regret (Seller's remorse). A few come to mine that I do wish I'd hung onto. Not many, mind you,but there are a couple of razors that when I see a photo of a comparable shaver, I get that "ugh…wish I still had that!" feeling come across my mind. Have any of you had that 'feeling'? What do you wish you still owned? Here are two I WISH I hadn't let go so easily…. Merkur 39c Slant bar razor— I don't use a DE very regularly but when I did, this was probably my favorite—before I picked up the R41. This is one DE that I sold before its time. Sure I could easily buy another (almost have, several times), but I simply don't use DEs enough to justify a new purchase. A restored vintage Wade & Butcher wedge; nearly 8/8 width; killer-sharp edge; great shaver! Custom black horn scales and brass hardware. Sold it for 'a song' and have regretted it ever since.
The only thing I had buyers remorse for was B&M Dickens but it just came out again for seasonal/Christmas so I am just getting another one.
Sold my Merkur 37C and my Mühle R89. I sold the 37C because I didn't get the shaves I had hoped for. Looking in my rear-view mirror I'm sure it was my technique that lacked. I sold the R89 because I got the Weber and they pretty much shaved the same. Would have loved to have the R89 still.
I have a few. I mostly regret selling them because of those few people who put something really nice on BST, looking for "rare" Gillette sets. I had all three of the 1920's British Gillette boxed De Luxe sets, the Mayfair De Luxe, Empire De Luxe, and the Regent De Luxe. Also a NOS Gillette 1947 Milord Christmas Gift box set. I've never seen another. I traded it to @IAmTheJody for the aforementioned De Luxe sets, because he had the 1948 Milord Christmas Gift box set. IAmTheJody has since sold both Christmas sets to a collector. Almost all the other razors I've sold (or PIF'd) and regretted, I've purchased again. Notably a Gillette Slim Adjustable. As for other shave stuff, I've sold a few brushes I wished I'd kept. For me, the enjoyment comes from finding this stuff and using it. Not from just owning it. If it doesn't get used, it moves on.
Sold my 37C and do NOT regret it. Sold a full bottle of Steampunk EdT and DO regret it. (Expensive and it was paid for...won't buy another) Sold my LPL Vétiver-Bourbon, Lavande-Vétiver and should have held on to them. I was making room, that, IMO is not a good reason to let an item go. Every other sale...no regrets.
I didn't get the PM. You should try again. jk. Looks like Rollah's going to get to stage a reunion (albeit with a twin).
