I'd like to apply for admission to the club, my "dues" can be seen below. I have two C1's. Spoiler alert - See post #611, page 31. I have the same "serial" # as Hodge. I'm pretty sure Hodge does not know where I live so I don't think he snuck in and took pictures of my razor.
Welcome to the club. Very interesting about the numbers. Although that can be a great clue to about the numbers. Bunny K.
Had my first shave with Bunny Kelman"s former razor just now. I loaded a new Chick in it. The equipment. Razor C1 Blade Chick (1) Brush WD Boar. Soap Haslinger Sandalwood. Not pictured it is just a used up piece of soap. Not too pretty. AS #9 Bay Rum Awesome smelling stuff. Shave went as follows. Nice hot shower and good face wash with Dove soap. Did a nice leisurely face lather with the Haslinger. Very nice smelling soap and makes a good slick lather. Did my first pass WTG good cleanup. Second pass XTG with some nice short buffing strokes under my jaw. I tried this to see if i could get better reduction on second pass. It seemed to work as when i wet my hands to do a check of progress. All areas were very even, Almost all whiskers were gone CCS at this point. Went for my third pass ATG using short strokes to do entire pass. I rinsed my face off and checked. Had a BBS on face and DFS on adams apple area and under jaw. I am very pleased with how all of my repeaters shave. One thing I noticed with the Chick blades is I get 4 shaves then the 5th is a dud. How many shaves are you guys getting from Chicks? Super cool razors with the performance too boot. How can you beat that combo? Bunny K.
Mike the funny thing is Hodge also has the same markings on his L111. Maybe they are lot numbers. We need a lot more numbers to compare. Bunny K.
Regarding blades, Feather Artist Club blades can be cut down to the proper width. They are closer to the thickness of the original injector blades. I only tried it a couple times, I'm not sure if there's enough benefit to justify the time and effort. A little practice would probably reduce the time and effort. There's a "Shave my face" thread here: http://forum.shavemyface.com/viewtopic.php?p=132966#132966
I'm probably getting 6 to 7 easy maybe more.. Hard to keep track though with all the injectors I have in the lineup!
When I only had one pk of 7 they lasted 8-9 shaves.....now that I have a pile of different blades as well as a good stock of Chicks.....4 shaves max
I find that my Repeaters are quite sore on blades...My B 1 Type in particular...I reckon its the shaving angle with them.. Billy..
I agree...I'm leaning towards batch-numbers. I also love the various '*' markings and special numbers on some....all very odd....
I came across these Mint B 1 & C 1 Type Repeater's when I was Farfing about on the Web...Just search for Schick when you go into the site and they will come up..They are not cheap but Hey..Perhaps you can talk the Wife into buyin one for a Christmas Present.... http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=8&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiry5vh99_JAhXGbxQKHV6cC88QFgg7MAc&url=http://bobsrazors.com/Schick-Repeating-Type-B-1-Injector-Safety-Razor-GREAT-APPEARANCE-WORKING-CONDITION&usg=AFQjCNGDmPmosvM68AuYVmHngzsa5Gd0tw Billy..
