Ok, my cream selection is not the coldest but it's still pretty damned cold and does it ever smell nice with awesome lather. Skincare-wise, it's quite good with a soothing and very comfortable post-shave feeling. The Diana balm is one hell of an "iceberg" and so is the Snake Bite - in fact I think it may even be colder than the Rubby Dubby Doo! ;) :D

    Dove Men Face Wash
    3P Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #28 two-band finest badger
    Scotch & Stowe Fatty
    Personna SS
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The 3P Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #28 two-band finest badger brush. Two passes with my Scotch & Stowe Razor and a Personna Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Jayaruh how do you like the scotch and Stowe razor and what kind of shave does it provide? I have checked out their razors and want to order the precision new balanced model. Thx

This one is a really nice little razor. The fat handle is something I have wanted to try for a long time. I am glad I got it. It was a good deal. The finish is very nice, however, the top plate on mine was ground a little crooked on one end. It doesn't affect the shave, and you have to look closely to see it. It is a good shaver my Personna blade sings in it. I am getting good close shaves with it. I would certainly recommend it.

The handle on this brush is terrific. The knot is a treat to use as well. The Beaverwoodright can hold it's own with any soap in regards to protection, slickness and post shave feel...and a great scent. A wonderful and easy BBS shave.

    Bonjour Messieurs, last night :

"This week-end, the kids were ice-skating and making a snowman. After they went to the Olde Bakery !"

    - Phoenix "Al fin" soap
    - Dubl Duck restored brush (synthetic)
    - Thinet straight
    - Slant ikon DLC DE
    - Htgam "Al Fin" AS

Not a very nice shave, as it was in the evening, blade was dull, skin was not prepared, so blood spots everywhere. Ouch ! I'll do better next time.

    Bonne semaine Messieurs !

    Good morning everyone. ;)

I let my wife choose the soap for this week (yes, I'll try to maintain this setup til sunday):

    - Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood
    - WD Synthetic brush
    - Phoenix DOC
    - Astra SP (my last one, I believe)
    - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser

The scent of the Stirling soap is pleasant, though almost too sweet for my taste ... but wife loves it, so who am I to disagree? And all my Stirling soaps are pretty solid performers, this one is no exception.

I haven't used the Phoenix razor much lately, so I've been surprised again how mild and at the same time efficient it can be. But for maximum efficiency you have to keep the correct angle at all times - I guess there's a "sweet spot" and it needs some practice to find and hold it. I was even able to go ATG at one spot on my neck where I normally try to avoid it, because it usually feels like I'd pull the hair out with a tweezer.

Anyways - after two passes WTG and X/ATG and a little touchup work my face is mostly BBS, except for some small areas under my chin.

Finished with the usual cold rinse and Tüff Aftershave that gave me just a few seconds of burning sensation on parts of my neck, nothing at all on my cheeks. So I'd rate this: Closeness A, Irritation A-

    Z3 Gillette Super Speed
    Feather (3)
    Semogue 830
    Trumper's Coconut
    Two passes plus touch-ups
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Alt Innsbruck

I enjoyed a nice and easy two-pass (WTG, ATG) near-BBS shave this morning. I'm almost finished with my Trumper's Coconut. It's a nice cream, but the MdC is better overall in terms of scent and slickness. The Super Speed is a fairly mild razor, and I've learned that more frequent rinsing of the blade results in a better overall shave. Pretty basic, but that's the kind of things these focus exercises help me understand. I'm sticking with two-pass shaves, even though I'm tempted to go for another pass or two because the razor is so mild. The shave would only marginally improve, but I'd surely get a few bumps from extra passes.

    Have a great Monday!

    Menthol Monday
I went with my New LC today, expecting a smoother, easier shave. Instead I found the Futur is smoother for me. This shave felt rough while it happened, but did not leave any burn or weepers. Maybe my face was reacting to the menthol differently than usual, or maybe something in the PSO is to blame. Either way, I finished this shave up right with Lavanille Tonique, a wonderful long lasting scent.

    Soap: Krampert's Finest Frostbite
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze
