    Karl.

Is this a razor that you would like to add to your collection? I think i am going to look for one next year. I keep reading posts about them and it has me really wanting to get one.

    I love my PAL injecto-matic

Great review Karl! After a pm or two with Billy I had an excellent, smooth, and irritation free shave with the Adjustable this morning. Yesterday, I popped in a fresh Personna mini hair shaper and noticed a dramatic improvement in my shave. I have also intentionally eased up on the pressure and set it to the second to lowest setting to begin and on to the lowest for follow up passes. I can say it is an excellent shaver that rewards you a great shave, but it is an aggressive razor despite its smoothness:)

Paul H has a video using a Pal Injectomatic on youtube now.

I keep mine on medium high and it works very well. But it probably varies from person to person!

The short answer is, yes, definitely. The longer answer is more complex but underscores how much effort I have put into getting one.

I have had quite a saga getting my hands on a PAL Adjustable. I've had several that I missed by "that much" in auctions and a sweet one that I missed out on by oversleeping. I lost track at eight that I have had and returned or somehow slipped up on. I've had three defective ones that I've won. The first two were super loose when on the H setting and the knob rattled. In retrospect, I should have put a blade in them to see if they'd still rattle then. There is no tension in the spring at H so some looseness can be expected. But they should still be tight with a blade loaded. The third one didn't rattle (even without a blade) but the plastic insert on the handle was starting to separate from the main body. The seller of that one has told me to keep it. The plastic is very scuzzy - I'm guessing someone tried to use some chemicals on it and burned it. That's probably why the plastic is separating as well. So, now I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to get some marine epoxy behind it. The gap is only about a millimeter or so - not enough to use a toothpick. I might try running some dental floss through the epoxy and then between the plastic and metal and hope there is enough there for it to bond.

My best advice is to be patient. There is not an abundance of these and they tend to go in the $25 to $30 range for a nice one.

That's where I shaved for the first three shaves and dialed it back a notch on the second and third passes. I was surprised today when shaving at H that it worked so well. But I'm glad I notched it back to mid-way for the third pass. :happy088:

Nice looking tool Karl. I have the Gillette adjustable, too heavy for my liking, also the J1(my favorite) and a personna injector with floating head and some other des. I`ve been noticing some adjustable injectors on ebay. I would like my J1 to be just a tad more aggressive, but it does such a good job , I hate to fix what ain`t broke. Right now I`m trying to use up a pile of de blades and in the mean time, I just might look for one like yours. I really like the looks of it. I`ve been trying out some different razors, so I bought a dual blade "Razolution"(4 de edges) at the army/navy store(disaster!!). There are two places on my old mug that I just can`t get shaved down to where I want, the J1 comes the closest, so maybe an adjustable injector might do the trick. Thanks for sharing, I might just learn something.

    Happy shaving, Bill

Came across another non-Eversharp E2 today for $15cda in case.
I'm not picking these up since I already have a good example. These are slightly harder to come across vs Post Eversharp variants.
They do provide the most effecient injector shave I've ever had.
Don't know if PAL ever sold here in Canada as I have yet to see one in the wild.
All have the butterscotch Bakelite handle and light tan case.

Had my first shave with Bunny Kelman"s former razor just now. I loaded a new Chick in it.
    The equipment.
    Razor C1
    Blade Chick (1)
    Brush WD Boar.
Soap Haslinger Sandalwood. Not pictured it is just a used up piece of soap. Not too pretty.
AS #9 Bay Rum Awesome smelling stuff.
Shave went as follows. Nice hot shower and good face wash with Dove soap.
Did a nice leisurely face lather with the Haslinger. Very nice smelling soap and makes a good slick lather. Did my first pass WTG good cleanup.
Second pass XTG with some nice short buffing strokes under my jaw. I tried this to see if i could get better reduction on second pass. It seemed to work as when i wet my hands to do a check of progress. All areas were very even, Almost all whiskers were gone CCS at this point.

Went for my third pass ATG using short strokes to do entire pass. I rinsed my face off and checked. Had a BBS on face and DFS on adams apple area and under jaw.

I am very pleased with how all of my repeaters shave. One thing I noticed with the Chick blades is I get 4 shaves then the 5th is a dud. How many shaves are you guys getting from Chicks?

Super cool razors with the performance too boot. How can you beat that combo?

All Type E 2 injectors as far as I can gather were made by the Repeating Razor Company....Both Canadian & USA made ones...That is to say before the Eversharp Take over...All the Eversharp Type E Injectors were made in Canada and were Type E 3s, E4s & E 5s...:)

I'm referring to the one on the left that says Schick vs the one that's stamped Eversharp-Schick. I find the Schick stamped only variant to shave more efficiently.

I tried the C1 again today and might just consider this one of my top 3 SE razors.

I get extremely close 2 pass shaves very time without any need to go looking for touch up spots.

Yeah, all the Schick injector stamped Type E s are more aggressive & efficient than the later Eversharp Models for sure...:git:

Having shipped off the pass around PAL Adjustable I got to take up my surprise Ever Ready 1924 in brass with the chain link handle. I also got to try out a new cream for the second time. I don't know which was responsible for the fantastic shave I had - or if it was both - but I got one of the nicest shaves I have had. Fantastic beard reduction with every pass, no nicks, cuts, or weepers in any of my usual spots, and a closeness that is up there with the best of them. In fact, I'm going to have to break out the PAL Injecto Matic soon for benchmarking. It is no longer clear which non-injector SE gives me the best shave - there are now three contenders: the Louis (my French Hoe), the Ever Ready 1914, and my brass Ever Ready 1924. It's an embarrassment of riches. :happy036:

Great write up Karl...The 19124s don't seem to get the appraisal they deserve in Forums for some reason...Serious Whisker Hunters for sure..:bang:

Alumigoose (not pictured) w TRIAD Rolling Hex Ti
    Feather Pro #2
Doug Korn Taca 2 TGN HMW
@Douglas Carey Route 66 SS Frozen Margaritas
Alum, Sterling MITA Witch Hazel, Gold Bond Green Lotion
    Chiseled Face Cryogen Aftershave

The Alumigoose continues to impress. Two passes plus clean up closeness A irritation A. Light as a feather, but still a Mongoose. Lather was a Christmas present from @Douglas Carey. Thanks Doug! Scratch one from the top of my list. @Salty Belle Route 66 Soap Frozen Margaritas is an outstanding performer, a medium face freezer with a great scent, some where between the Glacials and Krampert’s Frostbite on the ‘Menthol Monday Scale’. The lather was colder for the second pass. Note: TGN HMW has less backbone than TGN Finest at comparable lofts. My face was so cold I could barely feel the alum, the MITA Witch Hazel added more freeze, and the Gold Bond Green was a soothing chill down. Finished with a big splash of Cryogen.

    From the SOTD today:

First time using the very mighty King Cobra razor this morning.
Popped a Feather Pro blade into it (interesting loading mechanism where you turn a lever under the head which makes the base plate 'drop down' (while still attached), you pop the blade in and turns the lever and it's all secured).

First impression was the most obvious one - it's a huge razor. I mean the Mongoose is a big razor...but this one goes beyond that.
Second impression was quite a surprise: it is super easy to navigate while shaving including under your nose. It never once felt 'awkward' to use through it's size - quite the contrary I really liked it.
The handle is very grippy. Strong texture and makes the handle feel more 'utilitarian' than 'refined'. You will not slip when holding on to this handle.
I can see how it may not be for everyone though which is why you see so many KC's with a third-party handle on it. After one use I can't see myself rushing out to look for another handle though - this just seems to 'fit' the overall appeal of this razor. Big, strong and attractive in it half-posh, half-utilitarian design.

Now the shave was interesting. The Feather Pro blade is one sharp piece of metal. It did make me feel as if I really had to pay attention to what I was doing but even so I did manage to nick myself just under my lip and I barely ever cut myself shaving these days so there was a bit of a surprise/wake up.
It will be interesting swapping out the blade for the Proguard which is a blade I love in the Mongoose and see if that tames the Cobra a bit.

In summary: If you love injector-style shaving and big razors with long handles this one is a fantastic combination of all of those things. Luckily for me - I like all of those things.
    This one is a keeper.

    Three Shaving Pass Routine..

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
    French L" Essor
    NOS Heljestrand Wedge Blade (New)
    Semogue Boar Brush
Erasmic Shaving Soap (added Argan oil)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
LOGONA Mann Aftershave Balm (From Germany)

I got some NOS Swedish Heljestrand Wedge blades recently...I gave this one a 100 lashes on the strop and gave it a Test Drive in my French L "Essor...The L" Essor is a lot milder than the Wilkinson Empire I used yesterday...Its a lot smoother though..Smooth as Silk..I would go as far as suggesting that there is no Factory Blade that can shave as Comfortably as the L" Essor Wedge Blade Razor...Comfort is the Operative Word Here...This was a very pleasurable shave...I ended up with a Nice DFS Result...The end result feels like something that is akin to a Traditional Straight Razor Shave...The L" Essor Wedge Blade Combo is like a Vintage Harley Davison to me in that they just Ooze Nostalgia and Beautiful Iron at its Best..:)

Mmm...think I need to put some French wedge razors back into rotation...it's a shame to 'waste' the four honed wedges I have :)
