    Superb Tabacstag!
Very smooth and easy shave on five today. Now I think the new PSO might be the culprit for my substandard shaves recently. I went with PAA Ice pre shave today. I also played with photo filters a bit today.

    Hello everyone ;)

Because I received my long-awaited Semogue brushes yesterday I just changed my planned setup for this week. So today it was:

    - Jeeves of Hudson Street Eucalyptus & Spearmint Soap
    - Semogue 1305
    - Merkur 34c
    - Sputnik blade
    - Speick Men ASL

Fantastic, very relaxed Tuesday Morning Shave.

The brush is definitely at least one step up from the Semogue 620 (that's still a very good brush). Which is funny because the 620 with their "extra grade" hair is more expensive than the "premium" hair 1305. The knot diameter is the same (22mm on both) but the 1305 has a 55mm loft instead of the 50mm on the 620. That makes quite a difference when face lathering - the 1305 is incredibly soft and seems to be able to hold a lot more lather, more than enough for my 2 passes today. And that's with the first use - I expect the brush to improve quite a bit over the course of the next few weeks. The brush lost 3 or 4 bristles during my test lather yesterday, but none today.

The soap lathered easily and in abundance. And I just love the scent. Hard to describe ... a very pleasant mixture of sweet and tangy herb notes. My soap sample comes from an older batch which apparently had a lighter scent than the new soaps - I like that. Cushioning and slickness leave nothing to be desired, this soap is just a very good performer.

Two passes with the Merkur 34c (WTG and X/ATG), no touchups at all, still a close to BBS shave with zero irritations. No stinging from the AS - that's the way I like it ;) :happy088:

I swear, this shave could have made my Menthol Monday shave that I had yesterday feel warm - that Polar Vortex soap delivered a freeze which hit like a ton of icy bricks with enough lather for five guys to shave. The Arctique aftershave always seems to make my eyes tear - my God, is it powerful! (smooth as silk again!) :happy088: :happy088:

    Hello everyone, today's SOTD as follows;

1916 Gillette Pocket Edition Ball End Old Type.
    1975 French Gillette blade.
    Chinese Badger Hair brush.
    Proraso Blue shaving cream.
    Proraso Blue Post Shave Balm.
    Avon Mesmerize cologne.

This is a recently acquired razor, and I haven't shaven with it till now. It seems to perform well, but the French Gillette blade was at the end of its useful life. This was only the second shave on this blade. The shave panned out as an SAS. I don't have time for more right now, or I would wait a while and try another blade. Oh well. Here's the photo-

    SOTD: TUE. DEC 15
Shave Prep: Noxzema Classic Cleanser (cold water)
    Shave Cream: RR Mudder Focker
    Shave Brush: VDH badger
    Razor: VDH Super Speed (wannabe)
    Blade: GSB
Post Shave: Vaseline Cooling Hydrating Lotion
I would like to share a couple of observations with you gents this morning. First off, great shave this morning. In the past two weeks I have revisited the VDH razor (weishi?) Twice it was my intro razor into the world of de shaving. If your pair this little razor with a quality blade you've got yourself a darn fine shaving tool for very little coin. It feels well balanced and surprisingly substantial but also it really clamps down nicely when shut offering confidence. Now as for the RR soap this stuff is super easy to face lather and for those who like moisturizing soaps it seems to excel in this area so much so that a post balm can be excluded. The smell is comforting, very much like coffee to me. Thanks and enjoy your shaves everyone!:) IMG_20151215_081815.jpg

    eBarberShop "O" clone razor
    Schick Plus Platinum blade
    WD Synthetic brush
    Dr. Selby 3X SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Colorado Sage Cologne

The "O" clone is a razor that I need to use 3 passes with rather than my more routine 2 pass shave. No problem though, it's an easy shaver and does get the job done. Ready to go to the dentist now (I think). Now go enjoy your day folks

Today's SOTD was the "Maiden Voyage" with my newly acquired Gillette Rocket and $5 Ever Ready 500PB brush...........

Arko stick face lathered w/Ever Ready 500PB Pure Badger brush. The ER 500PB lathered the Arko extremely well. Although small, it's a very soft & dense brush which didn't shed a single hair . Definitely more comfortable than any pure badger that I've owned. Looking at its condition and performance, it's possible this brush may never have been used.
Gillette Rocket w/7 o'clock Super Platinum (black). Fantastic razor/blade combo for me
Witch Hazel rinse followed by Nivea Sensitive ASB finishing w/Fine Platinum A/S

    2-passes w/some touch-up for a near BBS shave!

Well - to be honest ... I don't know many of their soaps. I got 3 samples a little while ago: Mudder Focker, The Stallion and Don Donato. All three perform really well, but the post-shave-feel of MF has been the most pleasant. I also liked the MF scent best, followed by The Stallion (Citrus-musk-wood mix, just a little too sweet for my taste). Als you can see, Don Donato was my least favorite of those three, though it still is a good soap. And I think it is one of the cheapest RR has to offer ;)

As always this is very subjective and YMMV of course.
