My daughter gave me some new shave soap for my birthday yesterday so it went into the rotation this morning.

Prep - Hot shower Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face wash and Stirling bar soap - Black Cherry
    Brush - Plisson
Lather - WSP - Rustic Shave Soap - Blackbeard
    Razor - 1964 Gillette Slim Adjustable (4)
    Blade - Astra SP (3)
Finish - Warm rinse, Alum, cool rinse, Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic.

Apparently everything lined up this morning since I pulled out a two pass + a few touch ups for a 90% BBS

Blackbeard is my first vegan soap and it did not disappoint. The scent is great. I have chronic sinus issue so I often have trouble identifying scents. However, I can easily detect the complexity of the Blackbeard. Tobacco is not overpowering and the black cherry adds a nice sweet finish. The fragrance seems to linger longer (in a good way) than other soaps I have tried. It seems like this is the soap you would use before heading out on date with that special someone. It lathered very easily and I could have easily gone for four passes. The slickness and cushioning did their job. I am sure I will add other of their soaps in the future.

No bad. Not bad at all.

I used the unknown Slant I got yesterday for today's shave. I did break one rule and used the same blade I've had in my last 5-6 shaves. There was a little drag, either due to blade or due to a little more blade gap/exposure, but over all very smooth. Definitely a razor to put in the rotation.

Also, does anyone have any idea about brand of this razor? There are no markings or logos on it and when googling "unknown slant razor", only came up with modern production.

Now to plan for tomorrow's birthday shave. I do know I'm going to use a soap delivery/lather system I haven't used yet.

  20. Hello, wait till you try the Rustic Shave Soap-Barbershop, or Galic Tweed. I got the 14 one ounce tins sampler. I love them. They are great soaps! Have a great day.
