1. Sounds like taking the day for physical inventory:)

  2. too many. I'm trying to thin out the stock and haven't added anything except to replenish my Palmolive menthol cream that I finished off.

  3. what do you mean pucks?
I've got maybe ten. but many are unopened.
I prefer soaps in their own containers, are we counting those?
    if so, maybe three dozen.

  4. 40-50, all in rotation. Like others, I see no reason to keep a soap moist. Besides, with that many soaps, it wouldn't be practical.

  5. 10-12 that I could put my hands on fairly quickly and 5-7 that are safely packed somewhere. I typically try to use a soap for at least a month before I change to another, but I have been known to use up several soaps over the past couple of years.

Edit, just looked them over and I have 19 different soaps.

  6. I've got seven soap pucks, not including samples. I've got about as many creams as well I suppose. I usually alternate between soaps and creams and try to rotate more or less uniformly, but whatever sounds good on any given day.
  7. All my parts are accounted for. ;)

  8. 7 but only use 2 regularly (Tabac and MWF). The last couple days I have been planning to make January 2016 hard soap/boar only month. I love whipping up lather using a hard puck and face lathering. The old Semogue boars feel great on the face. February may be cream/badger. March may be soft soaps/mixed hair/bristle. Since I am doing the NB'16, this will give a feeling of getting "new" gear while still using the on-hand gear. I still have a couple or soaps on which to dispose.....just gotta figure out how. Can't trade (NB '16)...have to use what I have. That leaves sale/PIF.

Concerning choice - the decision is made at shave time. Maybe the same a couple days in a row or not. Decisions, decisions...:think002:
  9. Why no trades? It's no "buy" not no trade. That's how I would see those rules.

  10. Abacus located.
    Pucks/Croaps in my current den = 46
1 tube of C.O. Bigelow (Proraso) cream.
    And while we're counting...61 AS/EdT/Cologne/ASB
    18 Razors
    9 Brushes
Phew...that was exhilarating. And I didn't even count the razor blades.
Now you all may better understand my NB '16 commitment. :)

  11. Four I guess... A fifth that's scheduled to be shipped off.
  12. I have been thinning my den out. Currently I have 20 soaps, 12 creams, and 3 sticks. They are all in rotaion, but some "rotate" more than others.
  13. 2. One for me & one for the hubby.
  14. 52 in the bathroom.
Maybe 20 or so more boxed up in reserve.
I'd have to guess similar numbers for creams.
  15. Thank you, John. I can add one more to my rotation :happy108:

Hmmm... I didn't count my reserve. Those are duplicates of what I have in use in my rotation.

  16. As the proud owner of three pucks I ask this question: Does the moisture dry out pucks and if so, does it create a problem in creating lather?
  17. Moisture drying out a puck? Not quite sure I understand.
I shave in the morning. Leave the puck uncovered during the day, stash it in a zip lock bag in the evening, take out next soap up in the rotation for the next day's shave.
    Never have a lathering issue.
  18. I was referring to those with large numbers of pucks. If you rotate every day some guys won't touch a puck for months. Isn't easier to create lather with a well hydrated puck than a dried out puck? I hydrate a new puck for an easier time in creating lather.
  19. I'm one of those with near 50 pucks, all in rotation. Like I said, no lathering issues. And I never hydrate a puck.
