Love 'em. Which one will get the boar and which will get the badger? If you do a restore pleeaaseee take photos of the various steps you go though
Will do. I'm thinking boar on the Never Shed to keep it all original and a bulb shaped badger on the Rubberset
Im not entirely sure what greece has to offer shaving wise =) I know @crackstar has said he has a shaving cream from greece, I'm just not sure which one
She could get things shipped to her easier. Then she could ship to me. Almost like a shipping agent. I might ask her if I have anything I want that doesn't ship to the states.
I tagged Jeff because I think he could have some info of what might be available there, if Im not mistaken he lived there for a couple of years =)
I lived in Thessaloniki for a good while after leaving Israel and for me Greece is my second home. I consider myself to be Greek as well as Israeli because of the fact that I'm still a Greek citizen and I still have my Greek passport. I still have very close ties to Greece, although I'll admit that Israel is still so precious and close to my heart. Greece produced or still produces Kolynos, Prosar, Beau Mec, Adelco, and Apavita shaving creams which I think are very good. When I was living in Thessaloniki I used mostly Kolynos. There used to be a shaving soap in powder form called Splendit which barbers used, but that one was subpar - in fact I found that if you sniffed it before adding water to it you'd get a sneezing fit! loll There are these artisan soaps in Greece now called Faena which come in several scents and apparently excellent. These are made on the island of Lesvos.
I picked up this entire lot for less than your average slim goes for. One of those accidental wins when the lowball bid wins a poorly listed lot. Sellers pic All of the safety razors will clean up nice. I had hopes for the Wade and Butcher Straight but it has quite a bit of hone wear. Oh well, I still made out well.
My sister lives in (on) Spetses and they have another home as well but I'm not sure where. I would like to visit but air fare over the big pond is higher then I can afford. She has lived there as long as I've been alive. She doesn't visit much but the internet lets us stay in touch. She is 22 years older then me and she married her husband and moved to Greece 28 years ago in the same week I was born.
:mail:Arrived today... My "eau de Guerlain," after it's long journey from New Jersey to Alaska to south Florida. Also our favorite Haitian client brought me back a bottled of aged Rhum Barbancourt Réserve Spécial vieilli 8 ans (aged 8 years.) Can't wait to try both. Maybe I'll be sitting in a drunken stupor but smelling beautiful. ... To be continued... Don
So pleased to get in an Ever Ready military set dated 1918 by a past owner. Extremely pleased that it contained an ER 1914 in grear condition as well as many unused ER blades. Now to clean it....
I can't wait to see what you can do with them. Anybody that turn an overcoat into an Airlines-proof suitcase has my full faith!
I received my bowl of Monsavon Bol à Raser, the strangest thing happened. It arrived at my door by the mail carrier at 7:12am, 7:12 am?! Huh?? Unfortunately my wife was home and brought the box to me.... "I thought you weren't buying stuff anymore????????!!!!!!!!?!?" I showed her the receipt that had shown that I bought this shaving soap almost a lifetime ago (in No Buy Terms) it's all good. So the soap has a fresh citrus-y scent, it's like Cella in texture. I'll be using it tomorrow.
