Please recommend a smooth injector blade

I want to use my Pal Adjustable more often but I have only a drawer full of ancient Pal, Schick and Eversharp carbons to draw from. They work, yeah, but I miss the smoothness of finer stainless DE blades and these older ones make injector shaving less enjoyable than I know it can be. Problem is, the few newer stainless injector blades I've used have tended to be cheaper ones which also aren't very smooth. Even something that feels like the Gem coated stainless SE would be an improvement.

Can you injector heads recommend a reliably smooth injector blade...assuming one exists? Thank you in advance.

These chinese Schick blades are the most consistent blades Ive used. They work well in everyone of my injectors/repeaters.

This is the blade of choice in both my Pal Injectors as well.

I see them around but being a cheapskate, the price usually keeps me away. I'll have to get a pack; I don't use them that often so it should last awhile.

Personally I like the Chinese Schicks but the first shave is a little rough. Vintage US Schick are wonderful and are my favorite. Many people swear by the Ted Pella injector blades (and they are cheaper to) but I have never tried them as the Chinese Schicks are available to me locally and I have a large stash of US made Schick blades.

I'm with you on those carbon steel blades. Your two main choices have been identified already. Luckily I like both of them. The Chinese made Schicks are a really sharp blade that's still nice and smooth. The Personnas aren't quite as sharp but feel a little smoother to me. There are some Japanese made single and twin blades out there. They're pricey and not as easy to find but I think you might find them on eBay. Another option is to cut down a Feather Artist Club Pro blade. I've never tried fitting one in a Schick injector but those blades are nice.

Ive got 10+ shaves from a Chick blade without compromising quality much.

I can count on 10 very comfortable two pass shaves with the Chinese Schick blades and starts going downhill from there, I am on day 7 now.

I don't use the personna blades. They feel grabby tuggy and I feel like Ill cut myself. Very rough.

the Chinese Schick blades are very nice. They cost a bit but its a very smooth, sharp blade with good longevity.

Thank you, gentlemen. Locally, I think they run upwards of $9 which is just too high for me. I'll shop around.

Try the Personna/Ted Pellas. As can be seen, some guys don't like them but they work as well as the Chinese Schicks for me and at $4.90 plus shipping for 20 blades the price is right - certainly worth a try.

Vintage stainless steel, chromium and tungsten blades are even better, but they are hard to find and usually pricey when you do find them. I've seen Personna 74 Tungsten blades go for over $3 per blade.

Back in October, I bought 100 Personnas from Ted Pella. I piffed one 20 blade dispenser so that left me with 80. That will probably last me at least 5 years since I also use DEs. But, they are great blades.

BLADES, PTFE TREATED, DISP/20 for 4.90 each 5 for 24.50
FREIGHT CHARGE of 7.70 for a total of 32.20

So, that was 100 blades for 32.20. Each blade was about 32 cents each. That is manageable, especially since they last for many many shaves.

The PAL Adjustable is just about the most aggressive Injector available when you turn up the Volume...Blades are a personal thing as always...The Chinese blades are more expensive but I personally find that they work exceptionally well in more aggressive injectors and Fit the PAL Adjustable well..I wouldn't let the price put you off them...You can also buy some Personna blades as well cause they are so cheap ...;)
