Hate cams but DVDscreeners are normally very good.
I can see this movie becoming somewhat of a 'classic' as I can already see myself watching it again :)

    Ended up watching two westerns back-to-back (well different days);
    - The Hateful Eight, and
    - The Revenant.

Loved every minute of 'The Hateful Eight'.
The Revenant tonight....I was bored out of my skull 30 mins in.
Acting was spotty to say the least and the story was just not, to me, told in a very exciting/entertaining/captivating way.

The Hateful Eight was, to me, a solid 9.5/10
    The Revenant...a 6/10

I recently watched the End of Watch. What an unexpectedly powerful movie. Kind of a modern day Colors. I'm rather behind the times though.
I'm currently watching the 1947 Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome. Hard to go wrong with Boris Karloff.

How does this compare to Django Unchained? I waited about a year to see it after the fervor died down and thoroughly enjoyed it. Is this in a similar vein?

Just yesterday I finished listening to the audiobook version of the same story! I highly recommend the audio performance.

I read all the original books when they first came out, and have seen all the movies at least a couple of times.

The first one was certainly written for kids, but the books and movies have a strong appeal across age groups.

Thanks for the reviews. These are at the top of my list this week. Never met a Tarantino film I didn't get along with.

Movie takes place (largely) inside a tank. Beautifully done.

Ant man - as expected a non cartoon comic.

Ridiculous Six - Cheap one time laughs. No western classic but good enough entertainment for single watch.

Over here that film is called The Hunger Games Mockingjay part 2.
Funny how films have different names in different countries.
    Was the film any good?

That's one I'm waiting to see. It looks good. Plus I liked watching those 2 actors together in Adventureland.

I saw Antman. It was OK. What will be interesting will be seeing this oddball superhero mixing with the rest of The Avengers in the next Captain America film.

I tried watching the ridiculous six. Made it 20 minutes before switching it off. Just seemed dumb and not funny. Does it get any better? Should I have continued watching?

No it's dumb, but I enjoyed watching my 15yr old face reactions during the movie. Different mind set at 15 vs me, it was nice to see it from his eyes. Reminds me of dumb movies I use to go and see with friends at the movies when I was a teen.
The Jerk with Steve Martin for example.

The silly haircuts made me cringe, it has dated the film :( ...
