Fascinating article sounds a lot like the type of thing that the government does today.. He was quite the fellow a real pair on him!
I am just guessing that he must have Ruffled a few Feathers when Roosevelt made that public comment... Billy..
I feel really bad for you. That nasty C2 messes up your collection. Maybe I should take it off your hands? You know, just trying to help.
I've said it before and I'm sure this want be the last time....But the good Col. was a genius who did invent a better mousetrap...apparently more than one..... Yo, Billy....did our man have anything to do with the Canadian E types?....He was in Canada looking to get back in the business....I would think if he did we would know, but I'm asking anyway....I know the Canadians are generally called 1937s which would place the patent after his death, but who applied for that Canadian Pat.....Schick Repeating Razor Co. or the Col.?
I'm answering my own question.....I looked at all the Schick Canadian Patents...They were owned by The Magazine Repeating Co. And designed by Victor Octavius Rodrigues the man who invented the D,E, F, G and H types....Ohhhh wait a minute, I also see he invented the Schick Simplified Automatic Type C repeater... So it appears the good Col.'s influence stopped with the first Repeater and also the Blade Magazine....Still a giant among men.....And I believe we need to hold Octavius in high esteem...I 'mgonna run over to the Injector & SE Party and shout this out!
Nice Piece of Research...Colonel Schick actually his made his fortune out of the Worlds First Electric Razor...His passion was electric razors to start with but his idea was so radicle at the time that no one would invest in his enterprise...It would appear that shortly after making enough income from the early A Type Repeater he sold up with the full intention of using the proceeding's to fund his original dream of getting the Worlds First Electric Razor into production which he achieved & the rest is History... Billy...
The below is what i just posted on the SE page. For SRR owners. Have you found any difference from the B1 solid bar to the B2 closed comb? I seem to like an open or closed comb a bit better. I believe it may leave a bit more lather on my face for the blade to engage. Your thoughts. Just finished my shave. I must say that these repeaters are wonderful pieces of equipment. Had a DFS to BBS on my standard 3 pass shave. There is not a lot of feedback on my WTG. As soon as I go XTG & ATG this baby really sings. It is actually very easy to find the correct angle. I liked this shave so much i will be using my B2 tomorrow. Then i can do a comparison. I do not think i will find much difference. B2 is a closed comb. It might be a bit smoother for me. Tomorrow will tell. Bunny K.
Christmas Day: Homemade PS Oil Simpsons Commodore X3 Best Badger Musco Real Classic SC Schick Repeating Razor Type A Stirling Unscented PSB Musco Real Classic AS Since today was Christmas, I wanted to break out a special razor. I hadn't tried this razor yet, so it was definitely time to give it a spin. Right from the start, this razor just felt natural. After the first pass, I was at least a CCS. I went for a second pass, and did get to NE little nick under my nose when I got a little greedy. I ended with something very close to BBS, so I am going to call it a DFS+. It was so smooth and comfortable. Merry Christmas to all. I hope everyone has had a good holiday and enjoyed some time with their families.
I don't know about the B but my C's shave equally well. Perhaps there is advantage to t closed comb leaving lather, I'll look at it more closely next time I'm shaving with it. Merry Christmas my friend!
So i had my shave tonight with my B2. I could not tell a difference from the B1. Both had to remove a full 2 days growth. I ended up with a DFS. Not quite BBS but a very even shave. I am finding that all of my injectors remove my trouble spots with less effort than my DE's. I am finding the angle you hold the repeaters to be very comfortable. Sorry no pictures tonight. I am on Tapatalk tonight. Bunny K.
A rather nice looking, hard to tell from one photo, cased Schick on sale for $70 shipped on Reddit. Note: I don't know the seller or the condition of the razor.
