I would restore it because I like shiny and that's a good one. I don't own a WB yet but one like that is what I am looking for

This makes my third Tamahagane steel straight razor from Japan. There is a different feel and sound from this steel. Very hard steel.

Cape japanese 13/16 finished on Nakayama Maruichi Maruka with slurry, then water. This was prev honed up to Gukumyo 20k and the edge improved. Not neccesarily sharper but much smoother and keener
Baume.Be crème - one of the best cremes out there ( thx again to Lynn S. Abrams & Ben Lazar for the suggestions)
Crown King switchback # 2 knot - after learning how to load this synthetic I really am enjoying it. It is very water sensitive
    Floid Vigoroso...
I would settle for todays shave anyday. Just an awesome shave. Today I caught the elusive edge and BBS shave we are all chasing.

This is akin to having to choose one's favorite child…each one is different, yet you love them all. :D

Pasted and regular strop before each pass, but I got a good shave from my Soviet razor. Some irritation, but it worked.

This is my experience as well. Prior to the SG20K, my finisher was a lovely, huge Nakayama Karasu. They both put indistinguishably sharp edges on a blade, but the natural edge was always noticeably smoother. The deal-making difference being finishing with the Nakayama took around 10 minutes, where as finishing on the SG20K takes about 30 seconds.

I've discovered that after I come off of the SG20K, I take about 10 laps on a 0.25 micron CrOx sprayed linen strop and it smooths the edge nicely. Give it a shot, works a charm.

Lol, nailed it! I only have but one child, and she's different alright...:shocked029:
