A great shave today. Maggard's Limes and Bergamot again provided optimal lather at rob behest of my Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze brush. My stubble luxuriated in the comfort of the soap and brush, unaware of its fate. Der Futur was merciless in its grim duty, leaving my face the beneficiary of a drama free BBS after three passes on six. I finished up with Fine Platinum to carry the fruit note and provide some menthol cool on another unseasonably warm day.

Mastro Livi K720, 7/8 Full Hollow, Square Point

After having tried my Mastro Livi "hand forged" straight razor made of K600 carbon steel, I wanted to compare it with the other Mastro Livi I have and made with plain carbon steel, that is K720 carbon steel. They certainly are superlative shavers, altough giving a completely different feel on the skin. They certainly both are super excellent shavers, but I guess I like the K600 better because it seems to provide a softer touch with a more velvety feel. This K720 blade is however an excellent shaver, giving a super smooth shave and, also thanks to my beloved P.160 shaving soap - too bad it is no longer in production - it was capable of gliding on my skin like a feather. I wanted to use this Zenith 506 silvertip badger brush, a good brush however not impressing me that much. The finishing touch has been provided by the luxurious Floïd Blue, also in this case too bad they decided to quit production. Floïd Blue will certainly be missed very much indeed.
    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Nuova Elberel P.160 Professional Morbido

The soap and brush were gifts from my son. With every scritchy, scratchy swipe of this brush,
I smile and think how lucky I am.

Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam
    Razor - Ever Ready 1912
Blade - Personna GEM SE Stainless (#1)
    Brush - Vie-Long 04312 Cachurro Horse
    Soap - Tabac
After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix
    Result - BBS

What a combination and what a result!
I had been sticking with my Fat Handle Tech all month but given it had been five days between this shave and my last, I felt it may have be a little mild for the task. I also wanted to have my relaxing "Christmas shave" so opted for this combo.
Nothing else I have gives me this type of result. This is going way beyond BBS! By that I mean it will be probably be thirty six hours before I have any discernible stubble. It's always this way with SE for me, seriously efficient.
Hope you're all having a great Christmas.

Prep: Warm shower, Dove Men+Care face scrub, Jackalope beer soap (rosemary patchouli scent)
Razor: Three-piece (still not sure of the brand)
    Blade: Personna lab blue
    Brush: The Purest synthetic
Lather: Country Club for Men Cahaba Blues
Post: Witch hazel splash, Fine American Blend, Nivea balm
    WTG, ATG, minor touch-up

My second DE shave. I did not shave yesterday because of travel for family Christmas activities. Today's shave was pretty good. A few minor nicks in my chin area below my right lip which I attribute to too much pressure. Also a little irritation on my neck which can be attributed to pressure plus not going in the right direction with the grain down there. The Cahaba Blues from Country Club for Men is made in my hometown. It's good stuff! Easy to lather, good thickness and slickness.

The Jackalope beer soap is billed as a shampoo, bath, and shave bar. I chose to just use it in the shower. The scent is very earthy - I don't think I would enjoy shaving with it. I am going to switch to a new blade tomorrow as I try out various brands.

    Have a great Sunday!

Try facial mapping between passes buddy, I do it all the time as a guide and I avoid irritation or excessive passes this way. Maybe it can be of benefit for you as well. Good luck. :happy088:

I was out of town over the Christmas holiday so it was good to be back in my own shave den this morning. I took this Parker 94R that I received in a PIF out for a test run and had a very nice shave. The handle is quite heavy so I'm anxious to develop a proper balance with it.
