Hello Troy. Weber + Omega boar + Route 66 is a winning combination! You're a lumberjack, and you're OK.
Tuesday: hot shower w/Yardley Shea Buttermilk bar soap Maggard Eucalyptus PSO Parker 94R 3 passes Voskhod (2) Dubl Duck boar Nancy Boy Signature cream in a bowl Thayers unscented w/aloe Pinaud Clubman A/S A good shave today but I'm afraid I'm done with Nancy Boy. Despite it's consistently good reviews I can't seem to make anything more than an average lather with it. This is the second sampler I've gone through and I've come to the conclusion that it may just not work well with hard water.
SHAVE OF THE DAY RAZOR: 1920'S GILLETTE BALL END OLD TYPE BLADE: CROMA (3RD SHAVE) BRUSH: EVERREADY BADGER-LON CREAM: TACONIC TEQUILA LIME POST: CAPTAINS CHOICE LIME Had a 2 pass shave today with Taconic Tequila Lime cream. I have tried their soap, but this was my first time trying this sample of the cream. Had a bit of a hard time making a thick lather, but it was good enough to shave with. It went surprisingly well despite the circumstances, not quite BBS, but pretty close. I like their take on the lime scent just wish it was a bit stronger. Finished the shave with Captain's Choice Lime which went well with the scent of the shaving cream. Hope everyone has a great shave!
Stirling Bay Rum Parker best badger '59 Fatboy (6), personna blue Cold water/alum Captain's Choice CoNT I think we have a winner at "6"! In my limited experience with the FB, I've tried 5, 6, and 7. Based on reviews I've read, I started at 5... I found that to be quite pleasant, a great shave, comfortable and close, but somehow lacking something. I jacked it up to 7 for a couple shaves and found that to be a little too much, resulting in a couple weepers and some mild irritation. Day one on "6" is that micro adjustment between the two settings that seems to be the sweet spot for me. If today's shave can be reproduced tomorrow, then 6 is my number.
