Good morning gentlemen - PIF shave today over here ;)

    - RazoRock Mudder Focker
    - Semogue 1460
    - RazoRock Little Bastone
    - Polsilver SI (#4)
    - Tüff Sensitiv Rasierwasser

An interesting shave ... but let me start at the beginning:

I won this razor at @Lyndon 's christmas stocking PIF (thanks again for this) and it arrived yesterday. When I loaded the blade this morning, I noticed that something with this razor was a little off. And I soon realized what it was: the top plate does not sit straight in the middle of the razor. The reason for that is a slightly bent center screw. The effect: two totally different blade gaps and blade angles on either side:

    rock1.jpg

Now that I knew what the problem was I deciced to shave one side of my face with the narrow blade gap, the other one with the wide gap side of the razor. The effect was as expected: the narrow side was very mild, the wider gap more aggressive, with a totally different sound. What's interesting though: both sides gave me an almost identical pretty much BBS shave in 2 passes. :think002: And the handle is really good - I like the length, the weight and the grip.

The Aftershave burned just a little on the left side of my face (the one I shaved with the more aggressive side), but just for 1 or 2 seconds. The right side was totally quiet.

I thought about trying to adjust the screw, but I think I just leave the razor as it is and call it my RazoRock "2 in 1" :) Definitely an interesting shave!

Nice shave this morning. However, I just lost my concentration for a split second and I gave myself a small nick on my Adam's Apple :angry019:. Other than that...a great shave.

    today's shave
hot water wash with nivea men's face wash and a washcloth
    Semouge soc
    Henry Cavendish Himalaya shave soap
    Marvy pro shave mug
    Micro Touch One
    Ladas(2)
Pinaud lilac vegital (decanted in glass)
today's shave was nice. I decided to used elements that I received as Christmas gifts. the soap was very nice, quite similar to VanDer Hagen deluxe. I used the Marvy mug, it did well. it has a ring in the bottom to hold the soap. I also used a MTO, also did very nicely. great entry level and readily available. finished the shave with the veg. not a thing lacking in today's shave.
hope y'all did as well, or better. 20151230_072634.jpg

    Stirling Lavender Sage
    Parker best badger
    Muhle R41 ('11), Personna blue
    Cold water/alum
Stirling Margarita's in the Arctic AS

Today I went back to the R41 and, as always, it delivered an extraordinary shave. However, I rushed it a little toward the end of the second pass and it reminded me, with a weeper, that a slow and steady pace is the order of the day when using this particular shaver. The lavender sage soap is quite nice, with a relaxing scent... a little off-putting at first, but I have grown to really enjoy.

    Have a great day!

DFS TODAY WITH THIS FRANKENRAZOR. I'M REALLY LIKING THIS SHAVER, THE LONG HANDLE MAKES FOR EASY UNDER THE NOSE SHAVING AS WELL AS ACROSS THE GRAIN WITH THE EXTRA REACH. FOR SOME REASON MY GSB'S FEEL TUGGY IN THIS RAZOR, THE ASTRA SP'S FEEL BETTER BUT THERE IS STILL ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. HOPING MY LARGE BLADE ORDER WILL SHOW UP THIS CENTURY FROM RUSSIA. THE STIRLING COCOA BUTTER SOAP IS A PLEASANT SURPRISE. IT SMELLS MORE PINEY AND HEARTHY TO ME AND I LOVE IT. VERY MOISTURIZING DURING AND AFTER AS WELL AS CUSHIONY AND SLICK. HAVE A GREAT SHAVE AND A GREAT DAY FOLKS. :happy088:
