Upon returning from the holidays at the in-laws I received a lovely Schick M2 in the mail. So today's shave was the test run with (what else) a twin blade.

I started out with a setting of 5 which seemed to be just fine. There was enough feedback to know when the angle was right and nothing to it, really. I switched over to a setting of 4 for the other side of may face and it was OK but just a tad too mild for me. I like to be able to feel the blade on my face a bit more so I dialed it up to 6. Ah, enough blade to feel but nothing harsh. I left it there for the rest of the shave. I have to say the whisker reduction after each pass was more than I expected. By the third pass the wet touch up work was among the most minimal I can recall. Wow, can this thing shave or what? :happy036:

I didn't get that same smooth glide-iness that I was enjoying with my F but I didn't get any bites and there were no sign of micro-cuts when the cold water got splashed on. So it was as kind to my face as can be. :happy088:

I never thought I'd go above the I in the Schick alphabet as that was my birth year but I'd been reading all these great reports of how the Schick Adjustable shaves with a twin so here I am. And it feels great.

(Spoiler alert - I have one more Schick above the I that is coming my way. Hopefully a special shave report will be ready the first week of January.)

Yes, scotch can make a fine post shave follow-up...I usually like a wee dram of single-malt straight up to follow a terrible shave and 2 to follow a great shave...:happy108:[/quote]
Makes for a good astringent splash also. Nothing like smelling like a drunk Scottsmen to settle the mood. :happy102:

Doubt #3 on the M did much for you, unless you like it real mild. The M only dances for me on the higher numbers. I like how fast and easy changes can be made to the M while shaving. I like it milder around neck and more effecient WTG on the face.

recently found a vintage ever ready SE safety razor at a local antique shop and im considering picking it up. Just need to find some SE blades to use with it. Anyone with experience with ever ready razors?

They are great shavers. I have an ER 1912 patent one. Smooth and efficient. Try to get the GEM blades or STAR. i like the ss a bit better but both work great. Once you find the correct angle it will sing for you.
Just a heads up they go for $10-$15 for a nice one.

Most folks use Gem Stainless blades...Make sure you get the proper Gem blades for shaving because they look the same as industrial blades...I wouldn't know why but some folks buy the industrial blades out their local hardware shop and take their face off with them...Doesn't figure to me but there it is...;)

There are also carbon SE blades if you live in the USA but they don't appear to agree with most folks..I have never used them...There is an array of SE razors out there and also Injectors which are part of the SE family...There is a lot of Intel on this thread..:)
