That's the patent around where the handle screws in. While they carry the 1912 patent, they were made into the 1940's in the US, even longer in the UK.

How are you liking the Pal? I really like mine. It is hard for me not to shave with it all of the time.

I also started to cut my razor today. I will be going in this weekend to get more done. So hopefully in a month or so if it works out I will send a couple out to have you guys test them out. If you are brave enough.

This PAL is one of the best razors I own. I'm serious, for a workday gotta get moving but still want a good shave this girl rocks! I'm willing to give your new creation a try when you get ready!

 

Curious regarding SE Gem blades in Gem SE razors. How many good shaves are you gentlemen getting with these blades ?
All blades going dull can cause shave issues but it seems amplified with these Gem SE blades paired with either a Gem OCMM or Clog-Pruf. They shave well for me in the first 3 shaves but really tank past that causing weepers and tugging.
Nothing like an injector blade which dims down by comparison to a Gem SE drop.

 

I can get 5 shaves at most. I always hand strop them. I don't know if it helps with it lasting longer or not. I only have a Gem mmoc and an ER 1912. I find they go south fast.
I can only seem to get 2 good shaves from my DE blades. So i am very happy with 5 from SE. Injectors i get 5 from the chicks.

Same here with the injectors. Interesting regarding DE blade, I find it varies for me based on blade manufacture from 3 to 4. Find slants can squeeze another good shave out of a DE blade for me. My #5 silly considering I have some 200 DE blades to play with. Will have to learn Gem SE stopping. Thanks

 

I just give it 20 passes on my palm. On the edge of it. Alternating each side.

Four is pretty much the limit for me as well. I can push it to five but know it when I do - so I don't.
