lots of people in the area without power tonight. Winter storms have done a number between flooding, high winds, ice pellets, and freezing rain. Hope everyone is safe and warm tonight.

I was out looking at a bunch of phones yesterday and I couldn't sleep last night and so I watched phone reviews for hours! I'm going to go with the 5x. I like the size, I love the feel (some think its cheap plastic but o appreciate the almost rubbery feel that allows me to grip it).

I know it has one heck of a screen on it, but I didn't realize the camera is as good as it is! I don't care that it doesn't have full manual, if I wanted that I would buy a camera app for a few bucks that gives me that control...plus I never use the stock camera anyway.

I'll be ordering it straight from Google in the coming weeks...so its just a waiting game now. :/

Thanks for the input. The deciding factor was one review I saw comparing it to the iPhone 6s. The reviewer was giving honest opinions on both and not degrading either device (rather in biased).

Anyway,

Aside from that I'm going up to Edmonton tomorrow morning. :/ To visit the family for new years....I am already looking forward to coming home from their place...not looking forward to the drama.

 

Had a crazy frost last night. It was at least an inch thick! It made everything look so beautiful this morning!

Lots of flooding in St Louis area where I live, interstates shut down, people stranded, can't get to work...

One of my friends just lost their house to the flood, and one of my coworkers had to drive an extra hour down backroads to get here today.

We had something like 10 inches of rain in 3 days

I make the first pot of coffee everyday at work. Got distracted by an issue and 20 minutes pass and I go into the break room to find this.


People suck.

Note to self: coffee first then problem.

 

Which is why I am glad our office has Keurig machines directly connected to the water line.

 

I'm generally not what one would consider a tree hugger, but I find those single serve coffe machines to be incredibly wasteful. They're neat, just use a lot of plastic.
