Received today, going to test it tomorrow. This is a custom Merchant Service Bing, with the specks that good old Bing Crosby had made. The company is no longer in business but there is a pipe maker that obtained the specifications and makes these beauties (at least to me it's a beauty). Although I don't truly dedicate pipes, this one I think needs to only have old school baccy, CH, PA maybe Half and Half...

Very nice! That pipe is perfect for VA flakes! Do you know what Bing smoked?

Apparently C&D Crooner is a replica. C&D worked with the late mixer of Bing's to create it.
    Here's the description:
Crooner is an American classic blend of slow-burning, nutty cube cut Burley and the sweet and fragrant notes added by the herb, deertongue. It is lovingly recreated by C&D from a recipe from the late Bob Runowski, who used to blend it with, and for, Bing Crosby.
    Maybe I should try OGS?

I was eyeing that pipe on a site....hopefully when my funds are replenished after buying my Bing, it will still be available, I don't have a Stanwell in the stable yet.

How is the PS Natural Dutch Cavendish? Is it unflavored, big time aro, slight topping?

Well, I think everyone should try OGS! It appears that he liked a pretty special blend. My comment was that blonde VA smokes better from more chimney style bowls.

It's unflavored. It's a very mild tobacco, Cavendish, Virginia and Burley.

Pro Tip: when shopping at the local tobacconist, always always always look for dusty tins. Look at that date!

Hit a local shop this morning, made an offer on this pipe, it's mine now! It's from the same line as my other Jobey. This pipe is the 130 Stromboli. Both are French made pipes, pictured together in last photo

Oh I have OGS, great stuff, in fact just bought a few more 3.5 oz tins. Unfortunately I was not able to get out to have a bowl today. But tomorrow turning the heater on in garage and going to enjoy.

It's been below freezing in Colorado since 23 December, my garage is getting a thorough fumigation with the finest VA available.

Afternoon pipe, Briary natural billiard with a couple of coins of Newminister Superior Coins, iced with a little McClelland 5100 Red Cake. The 5100 Red Cake lightly sweetens and slightly lightens the fullness of the coins. They're pretty good on their own, but definitely on the fuller side. The dark fired Kentucky adds significant body to the coins, but not too much. They're fine as is, I'm just experimenting a little. Sorry, no pic.

    Edit: mixed, not iced. :(

I stare at the grain on that pipe every time you post it. Great find.

Thanks. This is a meerschaum I've got my eye on. I've been considering it for a couple of months. I like the clean lines. Maybe I'll pull the trigger when my birthday rolls around if it's still available.
