    Good Afternoon everyone, Happy New Year! Today's New Years shave as follows;

    1958 regular Gillette Super Speed.
    Personna Platinum Chrome blade.
    Chinese Badger Hair brush.
    Cella shaving soap.
    English Leather AS Splash.
    English Leather cologne.

    Today I used a razor that is not much thought about. It is the regular 1958 Super Speed, not the TV Special variant. I find this razor to be an excellent shaver. I pulled a two pass DFS out of it. First pass WTG, second XTG. And there was a little touch up on my trouble spots. All in all a great shave! Here's the photo-

    today's shave
    (I picked a setup that is a sure winner, but I got up late and somethings had happened, making me want to change my lineup, * pocket rockets are only a sure thing pre flop*)
    cold water wash with nivea men's face wash and a washcloth
    @clint64 customized Rubberset 400/ whipped dog high mountain
    Route 66 Bourbon Jungle
    Merkur Futur(3.5)
    persona lab(1)
    ICED L&M Florida Water(atomized)
    today's shave turned out very nice. after calling my audible,I made top notch lather with the 400 and the jungle. and now I face the future after using the futur to get a near perfect three passes (nickedmyneck). finished the ordeal with a favorite, ICED Florida Water( atomized)
    * and that's how Jack/ten beats aces*
    Hope y'all did as well, or better.

    Last shave of the year/ first shave of the new year because it was at 2 am lol. Hope you all had a great New Year and happy 2016! Also, I am starting my reviews today/ tomorrow for tons of products! Anyway, here was my shave:
    Prep: Hot Shower/ Garnier Charcoal Face Scrub
    Pre-Shave: PAA Ice Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap: Italian Barber Acquatico
    Brush: Semogue OC Boar
    Razor/ Blade: Muhle R89 Maggard MR5/ Personna Lab Blue (2)
    Astringent: Alum
    Post-Shave: EcoPure Man Aftershave Balm
    Aftershave Splash: Italian Barber Acquatico

    Great shave last night! First time using the Italian Barber (RazoRock) tallow edition soap. It was very slick and the post-shave was great. This soap was a steal too, as it only costs $5 for 125ml. No weird burning today, so I can rule out my thought of the brush being the issue. I guess my skin doesn't like Caties Bubbles LPV. The lather of this soap was ok, but it never really exploded and got that thick texture. I tried adding more soap and more water and couldn't get it to where I like it. That being said, the shave was still very smooth and close, so even without a perfect lather this soap preforms. The scent isn't that complex and isn't that strong, but smells pretty good. The aftershave splash smells like pure alcohol to me, with some very faint marine notes. Overall, for the price it worked well, but it is not a high end luxury soap. The EcoPure Man balm was a Christmas gift and it worked fantastically! Did not expect that but it really worked well. Happy late New Year everyone!

    Great picture. You have the whole 9 yards with your SS. Razor, case and blades. Very nice.
    I believe the SS in general is the tried and true old reliable razor. No bells or whistles so it is often shadowed by all the new shinier flavors (razors) of the month.

    Nothing wrong with collecting both ends of the razor spectrum though.

    Is it fair to assume we will only be seeing new forest brushes from now on...

    They will most certainly have a high appearance rate - I don't buy these guys to have them sitting on a shelf. I love using them :)
