OK, I already fell off the wagon. I have changed the NB'16 in my signature to SD'16 for Slow Down 2016. My intent is to not buy extra stuff I don't need this year, but If I run across something that I want and it is a really good deal. That is why I have a Schick G1 coming this Saturday. If I run across a single ring, a Rocket, or a Blue Tip this year and they are a bargain, I will be adding them to my collection. That is all. And, I am open to trades as well. But, according to SD'16, I will be slowing down and enjoying the stuff I already have. If you fall off the wagon, too, you are welcome here. I will also be making purchases at the TSD store this year. So there. It is Slow Down 2016 for me. I can handle that. I think.
What made you fall off the wagon? I made it 10 hours into NB'16.... Thayers was on sale at the store and well honestly....I don't have the strongest will power.
I am shaving with a Schick E3 that a friend gave me last November. I kept seeing the Schick G types and was curious. Well, I started reading more about the G and then started looking on eBay, and the rest is history. I found one at a good price with free shipping. That is a winning combination. I just had to try it out. So, I didn't even make it a week, and I did all of July. I think a slow down will work better for me.
If it's any consolation, that's why I didn't sign up for it. I wouldn't have made it as long as you did
Ship it. How much willpower does it really take to do nothing? This is actually in the spirit. Enjoy and thoughtfully acquire new things, and not just eBay out of boredom.
I must admit that I am right there with you sir. I am still in No Buy mode, but if my Grails present themselves at a reasonable price - then I'm out. As others have said, that conveniently justifies my position - there is a redeeming value to the approach - I cannot continue at the same acquisition pace of 2015 and I'm now in need of some satisfaction of finishing off some product. (But if any of the NB'16 naysayers want to knock another one of us off the wagon - I'm in the market for a reasonably priced Schick Type D, F or O!)
Somebody sell this man a razor...end the suffering! Oh the humanity... I hate to be the bearer of bad news. You're still in. Keep the angle low on the G. It's a sweeeeet shaver. I did a month with one, it tore me up at first, I was way too high on the angle. Dropped it down a bit and it was perfect.
I have a bottle of the VEG that I got for Christmas. I was not chosen. We can share it among everyone who makes it. Not sure if that's a reward or a punishment though.
