Changed my blade and ruined my shave. I changed out my Astra SS with 5 shaves on it for a new Wilkinson Sword... Bad idea. No weepers but multiple nicks and a little irritation.

I did use my newly restored Black Badger brush. I think this will be another favorite brush once it gets broke in. Black Badger is a very prickly hair when new. Lathered nicely and had good backbone. I did good on this one ;) . tomorrow I'll use my new Pure Badger and hope it's just as good.

Thank you, no. It does have a few light scratches on the cap but yes, overall my best tech.

Normal wear, it's a fine looking tech. I hope I find one in similar condition the caps are usually so torn up. :happy088:

@Marverel your Phoenix is beautiful. How does it shave? I almost bought one last week. :)

    You can read more here

To cut things short: it shaves almost as good as it looks, you'll just have to disregard some minor flaws in workmanship

It has a strange smell. Not bad or great. It isn't strong menthol like the soap. But the post shave is amazing. It makes your face feel so soft.

Thank you I read your review. What a shame about the handle's workmanship.

yup - worlds apart from let's say an iKon Bulldog handle. And I can get that plus a nice CC or OC head fom Maggards for about the same price as the Phoenix, so production cost should not be the issue here. But still one of the coolest looking modern razors atm

    Tuesdays shave
Didn't go so well. I don't think my skin likes Tobs Coconut shaving cream. My face kept burning. It got so bad that for the last pass I completely abandoned the Tobs and grabbed the proraso white soap and used that instead. Might have to trade the Tobs.

    Razor - Razorock Stealth slant
    Blade - Sputnik
Lather - TOBS Coconut shaving cream then Proraso White
    Brush - Fine Angel hair
    Aftershave - Nivea Sensitive balm

    Tyr's Day:

Prep: Hot Shower, Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash
    Brush: Jayaruh #33 horsehair
    Lather: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (5, 6)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, RazoRock One-X aftershave splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

I may actually almost be over this cold (knock wood). So, I decided to get rid of several days of stubble, and take the new-to-me #33 on its maiden voyage. This is my first horsehair brush, so I decided to pair it with tools I knew and trusted: the RAKE, the Bic (even on Day 3), and the One-X. First impressions: I can still smell the horse on it, which is to be expected; holy cow what a lather monster, compared to my boar brush; less backbone than I'm used to made it an unusual experience for face-lathering. It shed a few hairs, but that's to be expected. Overall, a good first shave with the #33. DFS results from the rest of the equipment, and no nicks or razor burn.

Thanks. I wish it were more strongly scented, but the skinfeel is quite nice. Slovenian Aqua Velva.

RTF editors and iPads confound my fingers some days. It's someone's birthday, but not mine. Fixed it now. :)

No it was an error by me, sloppy typing on the rich text format editor. But thanks anyhow!
