Seems like we have the same razor, with different scales. How are you liking yours?

Mine also has a round tip. It is not too pretty, but it shaves nicely. As I have gotten better with a straight, it has gotten to be a better shaver.

C-MON HF ('Hand-Forged'), circa 1950-1960; High-carbon Solingen steel blade, 11/16" wide— full-hollow, double shoulder, muted square tip, hammered & blued tang; 3 sets of nickel silver pins, scales of streaked 'Brazilian Horn' celluloid with 'PJM' wedge-end nickel silver bolsters and German silver CMON logo. Super-smooth shaver!

Mine has also been my test mule for honing. I have been impressed with how smoothly it shaves, considering how inexpensive it was.

Today's shave has allot firsts: A new razor in NOS condition I purchased from our own @entropy1049, a Feon 172 Japanese Western grind straight. My first Japanese straight and the first time used a razor finished on a Suehiro Gokumyo 20K. I had a great shave and the edge is very 'kind', thank you Mike. My cell phone pictures and the bad lighting in my bathroom do not do this razor justice, it is in new condition.

Love my FEON. Keith, Mike also persuaded me to take the 'FEON-Plunge' and I'm glad I did.
However, I'm beginning to suspect that Mike may be moonlighting for Takehana & Company in his spare time, cleverly foisting his FEONS upon the unsuspecting....

I think you are onto something here, I was clearly in the unsuspecting group.

First time with this razor and grind. Feels solid and heavy duty. Shave was smooth and effortness. A silent assassin. Can't wait to play with more...

I am not now, nor have I ever been associated with Takehana & Co. or any other foreign fiduciary concern, especially any of those located in Japan.

This Kikuokan 77 dropped on the doormat yesterday. It took a little cleaning and some extensive honing because of the hard metal and at the end she didn't disappoint me. It was a very smooth shave. This is a keeper.
