Well..So Darn much for my Cella Tallow Soap...Its burned my face all the way to Hell & back..:angry019:...Good job I only got a Test sample for a couple of notes...I should have known when I stuck my beak into the jar anyway as I couldn't detect a hint of the Tallow for the Almonds & kinda Marzipan smell..I have been allergic to most soaps of any kind since I was a Kid..I got a phone call just before I rinsed off of course and blethered for about 5 min before finally rinsing off..I was fine at the time & now well you as are well as callin Me Captain Scarlet..:shocked029:

I promise the photo will keep me from hijacking the party topic too far...}8^)) But you cats have been in this helping me decide so I digress...
I was going to get the dark brown leather....But, after reading Ru's synopsis of cause and affect...Well it just sounds like too much fun to turn down...and @Hodge felt the same way soooo.

What do you think....does the combo work?...

BTW...This strap is from Crown & Buckle...I think their watch straps are unsurpassed...
And the razor, a Schick Simplified Automatic Repeater is unsurpassed aswell...

Great pictures - thanks! I was right about the VC2, but what initially appeared to be a VB1 is actually a B1 and dates back to before the "Valet" designation was used, circa 1916-1919. The VC2 dates around 1927-1930.

Note the blade stops on the B1. They are quite fragile, and if they are broken the blade will not lock in place and the razor is not safe to use. Fortunately, yours look fine.

If you don't want to modify a Feather, try putting a Personna blade in your G. I found it made for a smoother and better shave. :happy088:

I have used the 71990s from this site and found them to be good. I especially like them in my G razors. https://www.emsdiasum.com/microscopy/products/preparation/blades.aspx#71940 :happy036:

Big thanks Bob. I'm curious to give them a go now. Glad to hear that they appear safe. Have seen many A.S. in the wild here but avoided them.
These came as a package deal with 2 red tips.
Incredible workmanship on these and all seem's to function mechanically well.
    Will post shave results.

On the road and took my D and early E2 with me as I shipped out a loose blade ahead of me. The D was a disappointment today. Lots of weepers left behind. I blame it on the travel soap. I used the LaToja and it just didn't lather as well as I'd have liked (need more product?) It was very thin on the second pass and I had to reapply for the third pass. For all you Arko fans (yes, that means you @Bird Lives ) I can say Arko has superior lather - but I'd like a, how can I say this delicately, a less profound odor. So, I'm looking for travel shave stick suggestions. Lay 'em on me.

    LaToja Shave Stick
    Simpson Case Best Badger
    Schick Type D
    Schick NOS Plus Platinum (1)

Interesting...I do road trips for work often and use Arko. Come next week I will be using LaToja at home to attempt to include that as a travel option as well. (I'm always on the lookout for convenient travel applicators for soap and I'm set with those two. I may try a TSD stick as well next.)

I'm right there with you with the ease of lather for Arko, but find that it requires oodles of water as it can be drying on the skin. I last used LaToya a while back and it was also very good with lathering, but will refresh my memory when I use it next week.

I assume you are using these to face lather?
I apply both of them directly from the stick onto my damp face and then use a damp brush to face lather, adding water gradually as necessary.

    and what's wrong with that?!!
    ;)

Yup, same routine re: face lathering after application to a damp face. No comment regarding Spanish toilets. :happy102:

Look what arrived today. It is my new Eversharp-Schick G1. It had the original blade in it, and the dispenser had two original unused blades. They will not be used. Very excited about putting it into use starting January 15. It cleaned up very well. Big pictures are after the cleaning.
