    Gillette Black Tip (first shave)
    Personna

    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

This is my first shave with the JR# 32 horse hair brush. The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #32 horse hair brush. Two passes with my Gillette Black Tip razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... All in all, an excellent shave. The Tabac and the Veg seem to work well together.

Yeah, it is a W4 the same quarter that I traded before. It is good to have one back in the den.

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Personna lab blue (1)
    Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece
    Brush: Badger
Lather: Maggard Tobacco and Leather (sample)
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
WTG, XTG (neck and jaw only)

CCS results again today. This is the first time to use the Maggard Tobacco and Leather soap. It's very soft, perhaps more of a croap consistency. It didn't take long to get a gob of lather on the brush. I then face lathered and needed to dip the tips of the brush just once. Good lather with tremendous slickness left over. Perhaps it was just me but there almost seemed to be a warming quality as the lather sat on my face. I've never had that sensation before. Maybe it was just my imagination!

One pass on my upper face was good enough with a second XTG pass on my neck and jaw line.
I hope you all have a fantastic FRIDAY!!

    Hello all, tonight's SOTD as follows;

    1906 Gillette Single Ring.
    1960's Wilkinson Sword blade.
    Omega travel brush (Boar).
    Proraso red shaving soap.
English Leather After Shave Lotion (vintage).
    English Leather cologne (vintage).

I had a great shave with my 110 year old Single Ring. It never ceases to amaze me how well these old relics shave after all these years. I'm really kind of awed in the presence of greatness. Need I say more?

    Straight Feather Goose Focus

    January 7

For January I'm focusing on two razors, the W.B. Speed Rabbit TSR and the Mongoose, on loan from @Rufus T. Since the Goose uses AC blades I'm using the Feather Pros.

    Razor - Mongoose
    Blade - artist-club-small-professional-blades.jpg (4)
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
Soap - TSD Lanolin Bay Rum
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea, The Veg

It's back to the Mongoose for a few days. Still on the same Feather Pro so it's the fourth day on the blade. I typically get a week out of one in the Feather SS so shouldn't be a problem here. I went to the big brush and the TSD Lanolin for the lather. I'm about to the bottom of the TSD soap. Seems like it didn't last long but it may be because my main two soaps are MWF and Tabac which seem to last an eternity.

First pass was excellent. It's interesting to shave with a Feather Pro in this razor as the pass is so wide. Covers a lot of real estate fast. WTG on the pass and a re-lather for XTG. I did have a minor nick on the jawline near the chin on the right side but nothing major. Probably got a bit heavy handed. Again, with the weight of this thing, you don't need or want any pressure. Did an ATG and ended BBS and very happy with the shave overall. The alum was quiet and I used the Veg for the third day straight. My sales have been high every day I've used it which proves the worth of the Veg - it attracts people with money who are susceptible to its awesome lilac scent and my awesome sales pitch. It truly is a magical product!

Thought some of you who own the Mongoose might like a coffee mug that expresses how you feel about this razor. It does seem to be excellent and definitely unique and effective!

    FRIDAY
    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
Inaugural shave this evening using my newly-acquired Fon Golden Star Deluxe (Thanks again, Mike!). Beautiful J-West razor of Swedish steel with an extremely sharp/keen edge.
I had such a close BBS shave early this morning that a two-pass would've sufficed, but I was having so much fun with this Fon that I took an extra pass for good measure. Thick & super-slick citrusy lather from the Route 66 'Sweeney Todd;' finished with more citrus from Musgo Real. Sweet, sweet shaving experience. This and this morning's are the type of shaves that justify all the extra time and effort that goes into learning to handle a straight razor! :happy088:
    Have a blessed Friday, all!

Hope you guys are having a great day/night and have a great shave!
