I am starting to like this focus. I started wet shaving a little over a year ago. I have used creams for ninety percent of those shaves. I am now on my ninth shave between MWF and Route 66. I am starting to like soaps a lot.

Had a great shave this morning. I've started trying to map my touch ups as I'm noticing they tend to be in the same areas. I was very careful in the areas I often touch up and by the end I had one tiny touch up for the BBS. Finished with no sting from the alum and plenty of ice from the snake bite. Enjoy your weekend all :happy088:

Good pic, makes me slightly jealous but not in a spiteful way. Partly because I want lots of stuff and partly because I'm not allowed my stuff on the sink my wife calls it "clutter". I'm working on that though. I've not tried soaps yet all that will change next month though I can't wait.

Good to know I'm not the only one who noticed a huge change between day #1 and day #2 with a Feather blade.

My wife gave up and gave me the master bath. She took over the guest bath. Life is good

I was actually thinking the only chance I have is either his and hers sinks or two bathrooms. How funny a hobby I found trying to save money might end up pushing me to get the plumbers in or buy a bigger house :happy102:

Short strokes are key on the chin. Mine are typically a half inch to an inch long, with good skin stretching. I do a S/N pass first, then a side to side, then an ATG. I use lots of Alum on my fingers to help with skin stretching. Chin and jaw were the hardest parts to get for me.

I do enjoy the Sweeney Todd citrusy 'blood orange' fragrance (& the performance!)

It's almost universally accepted that Feather behaves that way.

It does for me as well. Best blade ever on the second day.

Anyone got some tips on how to work a Semogue 2000 versus an Omega 48 or 98? For whatever reason, I just can't get the same quality of lather with the Semogue yet. The Semogue seems to hold onto water more (and lather for that matter) more so I need to shake it a whole lot more. Then even if I do get a decent lather, I can't get it out of the brush as well as I can my significantly larger Omegas. Today is Semogue day so I wanted to see if anyone had some advice.

Thanks Clint! I just had my first good meal in a couple of days, now I'm watching college basketball. Later NFL playoffs. Lazy weekend is the plan.

Lightly squeeze the water out with your hand.

Sounds like a great plan. In fact it pretty much mirrors my plan for weekend. ;)

    1/9/15 - Day 1 - Blackbird focus

I can't imagine how good this razor is going to be after 30 days of use. Today's first face shave was absolutely effortless and resulted in the cleanest and most comfortable shave I can recall. 2 simple passes - ears down and throat up - resulted in a BBS.

    Prep: warm wash
    Lather: Palmolive Lemon cream
    Brush: TGN synthetic
    Razor: Blackland Blackbird
    Blade: Persona Blue (2)
    Post: Old Spice

You could try hand stropping the blade before the first shave to see if that helps. Or use a cork.

I may be the odd man out, but I can't tell much difference between days 1, 2, or 3 with a Feather DE blade. If anything, it is very, very slight. You all are using zero (and I mean ZERO) pressure, correct?
