I really can not tell any other difference between the 2 razors other than audio feedback and weight. I do like the fact that the screw on the AlumiGoose head is stainless so that should be more durable. I have read reports that some think the AlumiGoose is more aggressive but I did not find that to be the case.

I would buy the AlumiGoose over the Mongoose if I did not own a Mongoose already because it performs just as well and at a much better price point.

If she shaves half as well as she looks, it's a winner!

Wanted to pass along a warning to those with an AlumiGoose. Just read on another forum where someone damaged the finish by using Scrubbing Bubbles.

Is it possible to just get the aluminum head? Would the SS handle be too heavy for it?

I bought just the Aluminum head. I have not used it with the SS handle so I can't comment on that. I'll give it a try later this week.

It is possible to just get the Aluminum head.

    I had a choice,
    AlumiGoose head: 70$
AlumiGoose + stainless steel handle: 85$.

A stainless steel handle for 15$ the choice was made for me haha! I don't think the handle will be to heavy for the razor actually, I think the weight will be a nice addition

Plus, your Weber handle should work on the AlumiGoose as well.

I used my Batch 2 SS handle for the shave today. It works great.

Thanks for giving that a try. I appreciate it. The only handles I have that would work are a Merkur bakelite and the Mongoose SS. My safety razor lineup is pretty short. Straight razors, on the other hand................. :)

Yes, from what I read it should. I really like my weber handle, so I will probably use that combination once in a while =D

I use my Aluminum head on a stainless handle and it works great, I think I like the shave better than my batch 3.

I would like to join the club. I now own a aluminum head and a polished batch 3 head. I have had and sold a batch 1 and a batch 2 polished.
The batch 3 is a step above the first two batches due to the longer pegs that hold the blade in place and the alumigoose has given me some great shaves.
