Kevin that's the truth once you've owned a good Japanese straight you tend to start looking for a second third and fourth and we all know where that leads us they are great razors.

Back for wedge Wednesday
Gem star customs Birdseye maple razor and brush set. The brush has a wd 24mm silver tip knot
The razor is a w&b near wedge barbers notch circa 1800's.
Soap is proraso red in an old spice shulton mug circa 1953.
Cold water rinse. Followed by a splash of clubman original.

 

I used an unmarked WD sight unseen 6/8 round tip that's somewhere between 1\2 hollow and 1/4 hollow. It has a softer steel then my other straights so it hones and dulls faster. It has a bit of hone wear and the heel looks like the razor used to be a 7/8 and could use a slight reprofile. I had it on the pasted strop 30 laps each CrOx .03 and FeOx .01 then about 60 laps on a WD poorman's strop. Very smooth 2 pass shave with ColConk Amber soap and a Semogue 1438. Finished with Nivea Sensitive.

My beloved Portland Razor Co Western grind Kamisori

 

It comes in a leather pouch. When I bought it I was the 7 day set was from WWII, but I really don't know.

 

Another fine shave with this beautiful blade....
