    image.jpeg Steampunk Shave

Razor: Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts)
    Brush: e-shave finest Badger
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Jack Black cream
    Blade: Feather (1)
    Watches: Steampunk Victorian Marine
    Cronosport Dive Watch 1982
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice

We were talking Steampunk yesterday, and how I thought the Gillette Goodwill Razors fit it to that genre. The Cronosport is my dive watch and has been down to 185 ft off Bonaire, on my wrist, a long time ago far, far away.
OK, whipped up the JB cream in no time. Not wasting any time, just 2 passes WTG XTG on my face, and WTG ATG on my neck. The JB cream gives a nice cushion and complements the JB Post Shave Gel very well. No burn! And just in time, the Vintage OS tops it off nicely.

Prep: Hot Shower/ Dove Men's Face Scrub
    Pre-Shave: Proraso White Pre-Shave Cream
    Soap: Adam Lindberg's "Pirate Cowboy"
    Brush: Semogue 1460 Boar
Razor/ Blade: '65 Gillette Super Speed Flair Tip/ Voskhod (1)
    Astringent: Alum
    Post-Shave: The Holy Black Balm
    Aftershave Splash: Fine American Blend
I was worried about using a Voskhod blade in such a mild razor, but it worked very well and gave me a nice shave. Not the closest by any means but a very smooth and nice shave. The soap is from one of my friends found through wet shaving, Adam Lindberg. He is planning to release this soap and sell it soon, but I got to test it out. It performed fantastically--easy to lather and very thick cushiony lather. Not the slickest, but still very slick. Post shave was very good too, but I'm not sure if their is Shea Butter or something in there. The scent "Pirate Cowboy" is fantastic. I bloomed it like he recommended and it was fantastic. Sort of like a western old-school barbershop. It will definitely have a spot in my rotation. Paired it with the Holy Black aftershave balm which also has an old school/ western barbershop scent and topped it with Fine American Blend, my favorite aftershave. Really nice shave and enjoyed using a new product. Business is important, but friendships are more important and I'm thankful for all the wonderful people I've met through wet shaving!

Very cool! Do you think such a shaver would have a steam-engine warmed scuttle?

Thank you. I was told that it was found in a closet after there grandfather died. They only ever remember him using an electric razor.

Wow! I have never used a feather so cannot compare, but this is definitely the sharpest blade I have used. However, it is INCREDIBLY smooth! Excellent shave today!

Hey, I need to have a good strong menthol punch to make up for the lack of it last time, and this set-up will do the trick very well. The Gillette Menthol cream smells really nice, lathers great and easily and it has a serious menthol sensation to it. I'll admit that the Palmolive Menthol cream's skincare is somewhat better but it's still pretty good in that regard. The Gold Bond has plenty of freeze to it, and a couple of good slaps of the Floid Classic aftershave are enough to make you shiver! ;) :D

First time I shaved this week due to [still] being down with the flu.
It did feel good to clean up a bit though.
Forgot to use my recently acquired Tabac soap.
