The Haul: January 2016

I always think "steampunk" when I see one of those razors. The cogs are particularly cool

 

I went to a jewellery store in Turkey and asked them to replate my Geniol Slant razor with Silver and they agreed. I paid $7 and they asked me to come in 20 minutes meanwhile I was in the city center, I stopped by an antique store and found this Pensan oc&cc safety razor for $2. I killed two birds with one stone

That Pensan is a cool looking razor And nice replating work as well

Amazing, 20 minutes and seven dollars. The replating looks fantastic.

 

My DownEast Harbor Brut SS arrived about 20 minutes ago. I used it to shave my head. This stuff is amazing, super easy to lather in about 8 to 10 seconds I loaded my brush and head lathered. Super slick, very moisturizing Shea cream. It smells a lot like brut! Love it!

 

I'm still in NB'16 as this was ordered and paid for last year..

Received this soap yesterday. The result of a trade with Tuxxdk.


Smells great and lathers very easily. A bit of irritation though. Not too bad though.

 

Got this in the post. A present from Omelmad delivered by Tuxxdk. I have wanted one of these brushes for ages and I love it.

I get pain in my forearms if I use them too much, for example spending too much time building up a lather. This brush is very light and large. It doesn't take long to cover my face in lather using this brush. Combined with the light weight and easy ergonomic handle it makes things easier and less painful for me.
This brush is so good I don't know why more people don't have one.

 

That's an interesting razor. The replated razor looks great.

 

Our own NapalmCola swapped some blades with me and included a generous sample of Heno de Pravia. Really, really good stuff, gents. Highly recommended.

May I present my first birth quarter razor



It's a beauty. 50 years old and almost looks like new, except from a few superficial marks on the doors. Didn't have much time for pictures though, it arrived just a few minutes before I had to leave for work

I'm currently doing a "No Buy 2016" but need a ruling on this acquisition.............

In late December I placed a $10 "flyer bid" (w/free shipping) for these two Gem razors not expecting it to win. Long story short, the auction ended in January and my $10 bid held. I actually forgot about the bid as I stopped checking eBay. I received the razors yesterday and both razors are in excellent condition. I'm very happy with them but feeling guilty at the same time. I intend this will be my last post in "the haul" for 2016 as I've emptied my watch list on eBay and have stopped browsing the web for items............
