These things are all personal of course Vince ..I have found that NOS & Feather Pro blades can & Do Transform Schick Injectors..I even put the Almighty Feather Pro in the Adjustable & it just down grades it..The Chick blade & PAL Injector Combo just seems to Fit like a Glove..:)

Thanks Billy, I appreciate that and the whole YMMV thing.

I welcome the advice and upon reflection I think it's better to just explore the adjustable aspect of the razor. Once I get to know the razor better, I can mess around with different blade if I want.

    Thanks gents!:eatdrink047:

When I first tried injector razors I found them to be efficient, nimble, and with a very easy learning curve. They were so intuitive that I found them, well, boring, although I still kept a few around for times when I was in a hurry.

Then I got a PAL adjustable and . . . That Changed Everything.

The PAL adjustable is most definitely not boring. Not only is it a fascinating razor in its own right, it changed the way that I look at injectors in general.

It was likely the first razor to be made mostly of stainless steel, and is one of the coolest looking razors in my collection.

For me the NOS Schick Plus Platinum blades work exceptionally well. The modern Personnas also work well for me, although I think I'm in the minority on this. YMMV and all that.

There is a fairly steep learning curve with the PAL adjustable, but it is well worth the effort. :happy088:

That was my experience as well Tom. Of the three Pal Adjustables I have the first one was the most difficult to get a good shave with (mostly due to its almost impossible to catch sweet spot). The second was much better and the third was even better still and is my go to now. I believe the third one is actually a newer model and has been improved in its head design. As an aside, I have found a good lather to make a significant difference with this razor. It really improves the experience:cool:

I believe mine is the newer model looking at previous posts. Looking forward to learning to shave with this beauty.

This is a real Interesting Injector as @spidey9 said..If you look closely you will notice a sort of cut out on the face of the razor..That is the only thing that was slightly changed between the earlier & later ones for whatever reason..This in an interesting feature cause I have never came across it before...The "Cut out" or whatever we want to call is very subtle...Once you get into the Depths of this Injector that little Cut out feature sort of acts like a sort of vacuum & kinda sticks to the face & pushes the skin in front of the blade..Its very subtle tho..There has been a lot of thought went into this Engineering Marvel..:angelic007:

Funny thing you mentioned the suction. I noticed when i was shaving a bit of a different feel on my face. That explains is perfectly. I need to be very aware of that next time. Thanks for the info.

Aye that's a better way of putting it Tom..Its sort of sucks in the skin but obviously Aerodynamic enough to let air to pass through to allow Glide..Very Ingenious & also very subtle..It sort of happens when all is correct..:p

Possibly one of the most alluring things about the Pal Adjustable is its polarizing nature and trying to master it. If it wasn't challenging to use it wouldn't be as interesting or rewarding:)

Question: Has anyone found it difficult to return to DE razors after using injectors? For me, it hasn't been the design differences as much as it has been the blades. The injector blades just seem so much better and are held in place much more firmly. Basically, I'm spoiled. Anyone else had similar or different experiences?

I really appreciate the discussion that has taken place here in the past few posts regarding the Pal Adjustable. As usual in this forum, it is invaluable to my learning curve. However it has me question the strategy of my injector education.

Aside from two months of focus to build DE skills, I've spent the past six months experiencing another half dozen DEs and during September, I used about half a dozen injector types for 2-3 shaves each.

I planned to take the first 4 - 5 months of this year working just with injectors. I am spending the entire month of January with my Schick C1. The number of great shaves so far have exceeded my expectation.

I was going to dive into February to spend the month with a Pal InjectoMatic and a Pal Adjustable.

Based on this latest discussion of the Pal Adjustable, I'm rethinking that and am wondering if I should build up more time with my Schick injectors first and then explore the Pals. I have various Schick Types E, G, I, L and M.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

BTW....Last night I got a marvelous shave from my Schick G8 and Chick Blade.....
As some of you cats know....my wife likes to rate my shaves on a 1 to 5 scale...She doesn't know which razor but she can pretty much tell.....Some of her highest ratings are like a 4.7865.....I mean she's tough....So far her best ratings were the ER1914, for the longest time she'd just say....oh you used my favorite today, thats a 4.92...Then the PAL Injecto-matic knocked her out....she said about the closest to a perfect shave.....

Well last night I used the Schick G8 with an old Chinese Schick Blade and she said 5!....best ever, can't be better, impossible!

Can you believe it....So now I'm going to see if I can do it again....the pressure is on.......

I think here you are faced with a win win situation......Either way you go, there will be incredible shaves waiting....}8^)).....Personally, Maybe the Schick path might be the way so many have come up before....Kind of the Classical Injector School.....:D

But either way you go on this one will be a right way....I'm curious what the other guys have to say....Bring it on...

What's most cool about your post MrB, and encouraging for me, is that you started this thread almost 5 years ago and you are still getting surprised by great shaves.
