Chris, thanks for noticing. It is a Patek Philippe Caliber 215 Swiss-made manual wound movement. Both the movement and the watch itself are works of art. I don't have one, but I can dream...

I did not shave this morning and decided to spend an evening on the Dark Side catching up. I kept with my focus by using a hard soap.

I don't know as much as I could or should about timepieces like that, but it's a very sleek looking movement. My two automatic watches are both by Bulova, and the crystal case back is my fave part. I totally get the love of watches, and enjoy looking at the movements, especially when running.

    Jan 17 Focus Shave 13

Breeding pet rocks has been a success but I think there was some genetic engineering involved. I now have a Shapton glass stone 16k. So I refreshed 3 razors with the new stone and I was feeling cocky and decided to use my scariest razor, a Robert Williams Purist. This razor scares me more than a shavette. In the past I always shed allot of blood.

I refreshed the Purist following a routine I learned from @entropy1049, using a pyramid starting with a Shapton 12k ceramic and finishing with a Shapton 16k glass stone. Then out of caution I used a pasted strop with Dove red/black. I then stropped on linen then leather.

In the past the sharp point and heal bit me every time so today was a big test for me. Three passes and no blood, my fourth pass ATG on my neck is very tricky and given the aggressive point on this razor I decided to quit while I was still ahead. The blade felt very smooth, sharp but not super sharp. No blood and the alum test gave just a little feedback. I did not do a 4th pass so I had to be satisfied with DFS.

I feel this was a test of how far my straight skills have come. I have not shaved with this razor for four month because of the blood it draws.

    Good morning TSD :)

    My Sunday shave:

    tobs1 Kopie.jpg

    - Taylor of Old Bond Street "Jermyn Street"
    - Whipped Dog High Mountain badger
    - Merkur Futur on 3
    - Sputnik
    - Tüff sensitiv

I don't have sensitive skin, nonetheless I love this soap/cream :happy088: It smells just incredibly good and ToOBS never disappoints in terms of ease of lathering, slickness and cushioning.

The usual 2-pass (WTG and A/XTG) plus touchup routine today. I think 3 might be the threshold setting for me ... I don't want to go lower than that, 2 or 1 are too mild for my taste. On the other hand I don't have any problems shaving on 6 - though I have to concentrate a little more on what I'm doing it's still a much more carefree shave than with the R41 for example ;). The Merkur and the Sputnik work very well together, I like the Sputnik better than the Ladas.

No irritations, AS did not burn much at all.

The rating is a split decision though: BBS on the left side of my face. On the right side however I apparently missed one or two spots, so it's just DFS+ there :D

    Have a great Sunday!

That razor is cool, I can see why it's your scariest though.

Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost
    Razor: Gillette Milord
    Blade: Ladas
Lather: Catie's Bubbles Le Marche Du Rasage (LMR)
    Brush: Olivewood Finest 22/50mm
Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate
    Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Capri
Really nice shave. The Gillette Milord is extremely efficient. I haven't used my Olivewood brush in a good while because it's a shredder :( I've decided that I'm going to use it until it was no longer useable or stopped shedding. I love this brush!! I hope it stops. Caties Bubbles LMR is wonderful, one of the easiest soaps to lather and great skincare.

    Shavemac Silvertip D01
Chiseled Face Soap Ghost Town Barber
Witch Hazel +Menthol, Chatillion Lux Post Shave Toner
TSD 2X Iced Barbershop Aftershave Splash

Today’s shave was great! The Blackbird loaded with a Feather was smooth and efficient. Two passes plus clean up was all I needed for BBS and one of the closest shaves I can remember from a DE razor. The BB is smooth and very efficient besides being the best looking DE razor on the market. Congratulations Shane! Have a blessed Sunday everyone.

Did a single pass WTG shave last night with a straight. CCS, with a DFS on my face and jaw. I considered doing my second pass, but have to shave again Monday morning, and hoped this would leave me some whiskers to work with. Orange Menthol from Maggardsseemed to actually burn this morning. If it does that again, I might have to pull it from the rotation. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Another great shave today. Going with a 3 pass shave, XTG, ATG & ATG with minor touch allowed me to end with a BBS but due to operator error, I ended up with a pretty good weeper. I believe I was over confident and paid a small price. Finished with with a splash of CC Bay Rum and I a ready to enjoy the sunny and chilly day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Woke up this morning to a face that was still pretty smooth from yesterday's shave, so I am not going to get one in this morning. I do hope it is just that my whiskers aren't growing as fast in the winter!
