Yeah the threads on the bottle are kinda wonky. I had to muck with the spray attachment on my Royall Spyce bottle to get seated properly.

Managed a decent shave from the Futur this morning. Nothing ground breaking but all in all pretty good. I used a Dutch made Schick blade and although it was efficient, it is nowhere as sharp as a Feather SE. It seemed like I was leaving stubble behind the first two passes and was forced to clean up more than ever required with the Mongoose or the mild Pils for that matter. Its loaded with a Russian blade (Rapira)for tomorrows shave.

Thank you! Yes, it takes a special blade. A Feather FHS-10.

    SOTD January 19, 2016

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Rapira Stainless
    Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Proraso White shaving soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
WTG, XTG (neck and jaw only)

Efficient CCS this morning. I had less than 24 hour beard growth so it wasn't a monumental task. I am more and more comfortable with a one pass shave on my upper face and XTG on my neck. It doesn't result in superb smoothness but does get the job done and seems to avoid irritation.

I hope all of you have a great Tuesday!

Pretty basic since I was trying a new soap and never use any Pre/Post when I do so I can get a good feel for the soap(quick review in soap section). And being so basic, I employed some assistance for the photo's sake.

    Pre - Hot towel bask
Brush - Rudy Vey 23x48 Two Band Finest
    Soap - Dr.Jon's HEX
    Razor - Stirling DE3P2
    Blade - Voskhod
    Post - Cold water rinse

    Good Morning Folks, today's SOTD as follows;

    1955 Gillette Diplomat.
    Personna Platinum Chrome blade.
    Omega Travel Brush (boar).
    Cella shaving soap.
    Avon Mesmerize post shave conditioner.
    Avon Mesmerize cologne.

This mornings shave went very well. I hadn't used the Diplomat in awhile, but it proved itself worthy once again. It was a toss up between my 1950 NOS Gillette Aristocrat, and my 1955 Gillette Diplomat this morning. I'm glad I chose the Diplomat. It always does me right. It was a two pass BBS! Here's the photo-

    GOOD MORNING TSD!! SOTD 01/19/16

    '52 Gillette Super Speed
    Lord Super Chrome(1)
    Badger Brush
    VDH Deluxe
    Witch Hazel
    Stephan Bay Rum A/S

Did the usual three pass shave this morning with the SS Lord combo got a super smooth and comfortable result.
The VDH deluxe soap is always a pleasure to use it lathers so easy, first time trying the Badger brush in a bowl it worked great I usually prefer the Boar or Synthetic brush for bowl lathering.
So when all is said and done I got another great BBS shave which = ONE HAPPY ILTS.:happy108:

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!:) HPIM2453.JPG

Tabac really bloomed today. I love the scent as much as the performance of this soap. Der Futur made three smooth passes on 5.5 leaving my face feeling great. I finished with B&M Kyovu Bay Rum and I'm enjoying the scent and glycerine on a 9° day.

    Prep: Shea Moisture Creme
    Soap: Tabac!
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze
    Razor: der Futur
    Blade: Voskhod (2)

Hello TSD - I'm back to the Merkur Futur focus - with new blade, brush and soap. ;)

    1901.jpg

    - I Coloniali Mango
    - Semogue 1460
    - Merkur Futur on 4
    - Feather blade
    - La Toja After Shave Lotion

Another pleasant, effortless shave with the Futur. Did I mention this razor is awesome?

Tried Feather blades for the first time today, so I thought I'd better turn it down a notch and just start on 4. Two passes, WTG and A/XTG, no touchups. Compared to the Slim I have to say the Futur is a much better razor (which doesn't mean the Slim is a bad one, it's just not as good). Effortless, smooth, efficient and by no means aggressive. I don't have any other razor that gives me close shaves like that in such a casual manner. Hard to describe how shaving with the Futur feels like ... as if it "sucks" itself to the skin with every stroke and just wipes the whiskers off the face ;) Paired with the Feather blade it might even be a tiny bit better than with the Sputnik.

The wonderful scent of the I Coloniali soap intermixed nicely with the smell of La Toja - great finish for this shave. Borderline BBS, just a few tiny spots on my neck still a little rough.

I think I'll use the Futur until sunday and then swith to the Merkur Progress for the last week of January. I haven't used the Progress for quite a while and I'm very curious how these two compare.
